Hello everyone,

I don't have a dog at the moment but my last dog was a bassett ( tortie ) who was a very gentle soul and previously two english bull terriers Lois and Angel ( who was deaf bless her ) who were both funny and very lovable . they were all much loved and very much missed.

A bit about myself, i have grown up around dogs as my family has show kennels, terriers airedale/welsh/lakeland/wire and i started work there the day after i left school ( which is a long time ago now as im 40 lol ) from there i got into trimming dogs and training and had my own buisness for a few years untill i had my 3rd child and just couldnt find the time anymore. i have fostered a few dogs on request from people who were having problems with them to try and sort the problem out which has usually been a dominance issue that the owners needed training for lol and not the dog.
presently as i said above i do not have a dog but am on the lookout for a staffie, I found this site through dogsblog and although i am probably to far away ( staffordshire ) to adopt from you and dont drive, after looking through the dogs a few times find i want to see that they get a home.

Good choice a staffie.....do you have photos of the dogs you used to have to we would like to see them...

Hi Lisa, we adopted a dog from RR in April, Stevie - you can see his thread on the forum.... we have become part of the RR extended family.... if you would like to visit one of their dogs we live in Hertfordshire (an hour away) and you are quite welcome to come and stay with us for a half-way house!! We're all nutters....(ask Sharon) but you're more then welcome!! Very Happy

Will see if i can find a new family member more locally first as abandoned staffies seems to a nationwide epidemic atm and i know a lot of rescue are full to capacity with them and a lot even turning the breed away Crying or Very sad

This will also mean all the family can go to meet & greet to save dissapointment. ( i have 3 kids at home ) my youngest son is 2 yrs old ( bit of a surprise as my eldest is 22 lol ) and i want to be sure to get the right match. I am bringing him up to be respectful to dogs and he gets on fab with my mum's pug and my eldest daughters 14 mth old Doberman and they both love him to bits. he has very infectious giggling fits with all the face washes he gets !!

If you look up Staffie welfare, then you will find the various rescue staffy sites affiliated (I hope RR doesn't mind me pointing this out!) They list the different sites and then you need to click on the website address - there is staffie rescue in Scotland, Lincs, Northeast and Northwest as well as the southern ones.

They dont tend to have dogs in kennels but photos and descriptions. I know they work with RR because it was thanks to guildford staffie rescue that I ended up doing a rescue run to bring down 2 staffs to Wokingham (both of whom were rehomed very quickly which was amazing seeing as they were on the PTS list at the pound)

oh and I fell in love with Murphy and the beautiful Tiger Lily but thats another story! Razz
