Goonie Brindle and White Staffie 10.99 Bordon Surrey

His story owned since a puppy. Now living with owner's daughter and partner. Being left long hours and needs more active focus.

Salient points Goonie is in good health. Active 9 yr old used to a rural setting. Good being left. Good mixer; over excited indoors with visitors. Well cared for.

Advert Goonie as been a great friend and companion to his family. He has enjoyed many holidays in Uk and loves to travel in a car. he mixes well with dogs and people. Delighted to be out on his walks and off the lead away from roads. Whilst he can be left he has had too much of it lately and now looking for a family wanting to centre their lives around his needs. Tuned into walks not people or other dogs outside with selective hearing when suits. Goonie is a character and a half! Currently living in Yorkshire.

Goonie is seeking companionship and would like to entertain! He also is a dog who would rather be on the bed with you at night than somewhere in the utility room! he likes his comforts, has always been integral to his family and you can see why. Neutered, vax'd and chipped. Goonie is a up for love; up for fun and oh what great laughs you would have together.

Goonie has arrived and is settling in at Farnham - quite a little character Laughing It is hard to believe that he is 10yrs old - he is in great shape and not in the least bit doddery Wink

He wasn't too keen to go into his kennel and he can easily slip his collar Rolling Eyes  so he must wear a harness when being walked.

Looking forward to getting to know him better Laughing

Yes, Goonie has arrived! I really enjoyed walking him today, when I'd finally managed to get his harness on. He was very patient with me while I struggled to untwist everything, and then off we went. He didn't pull at all and walks at a very respectable pace for his age.

I sat down on a bench after about half and hour and he jumped on my knee. It must have looked quite comical as he is quite heavy!

We met a lady with 2 very yappy JRT's off lead who literally crawled all over Goonie, nipping his neck and ears, growling and sniffing him and he didn't bat an eyelid. What a star. He greeted the elderly lady very nicely and waited patiently while we chatted.

When we got back to the kennels, I was chatting (again!) and Goonie was playing with the stones in the car park, happily saying hello to anyone who was about.

He didn't really want to go back in his kennels, but wasn't as awkward as he was yesterday thankfully!

They aren't very good photos - I promise to do better next time

Today Goonie took a real shine to my mum (and she to him), so mum did all the walking. He kept looking back at her and grinning. I was starting to get jealous! He had a real spring in his step.

Again, he didn't really want to go back into his kennel - this time it was because he didn't want my mum to go!

Goonie's paws haven't touched the floor. Laura, mum and Ant have introduced him to their dog Fidler and 2 of Laura's mum's 4! dogs. He did very well full of fun;  full of smiles and respectful of ground rules set by his 'older companions' and mindful of the play rules set by his junior!

Here are 2 pics I couldn't help but snip!

So Fa...   so good!

You're having a giraffe aren't you!

Goonie seems to be settling in rather well so far. Fiddler seems to be coming round to the idea of another canine companion slowly but getting better every day, and Goonie is doing his best to respect his boundaries but wants to play a lot and Fids isn't always so keen.

He has been to the stables with me and is not at all phased by the horse however is respectful of the fact he is somewhat larger than him so keeps a wide berth. He has met the two resident 9 month old lurchers through the fence and spent his time racing up and down the fence wanting to play with them. He did get bitten though by that nasty electric fence round the perimeter of the field which made him yelp, however has since avoided at all costs!! Bless.

As he has been doing well at the stables off lead we have let him off on the common. He has been brilliant and comes back as soon as he is called and if you're not keeping up (for an old boy he certainly shifts) he stops and waits for you. I have been putting him back on the lead when we see people or other dogs just because he probably isn't really sure who he should be with just yet and we need to feel confident with him and him with us.

At home he has been fine, but gets a little excited in the evenings wanting to play and then starts chattering!! He loves the sofa and thinks this is a great bed especially for him which isn't always so good when he gets back from his walks wet and muddy (he loves puddles, best water to drink is obviously the muddy stuff!!). He is quiet over night, I had a shock yesterday morning when I thought Ant had pulled the bed covers off me in the morning, just to find something very hairy sneaking behind my legs, at that point I decided it definately wasn't Ant, Goonie had crawled under the covers and promptly went back to sleep! His only real issue is when you leave to go out when he gets a little upset, but once I get to the car he is quiet again.

This evening he has been for dinner at my mums and met the rest of her crew all four of them. He was pleased to meet everybody, the springer bitch put him in his place and he accepted this immediatley and has since respected her space. He has had great fun meeting Meeko again (the young Lab) and has spent the evening playing so currently crashed out on the floor beside me. He has decided the terrier he met sunday is boring and has respected the fact that he is a grumpy old man (step dad says he's like the undertaker in dads army!) The other elderly terrier has taken a bit of a shine to him and spent the first half an hour following him trying to play with him, but Meeko won Goonie's attention!

We have taken some photos which we will post as soon as we can find the lead for the camera!!!

P.S How do you get smileys to work, I can only get them to come up in text format????

This was an attempt at trying to show Goonie's new found waist, but every time I wanted to take a picture he keep coming over to see what I was up to!!! Very Happy

Yet another dog in the bed!!! Goonie's favourite place, under the covers!! He sneaks in while you're asleep and slides down under the covers, at that point he normally wakes us up!!

OMG - can not wait for Karen to see these pictures.

Wow he is looking stunning. Amazing Laura such a diffference in his weight would have thought yopu would have definitely noticed it.

Love him half under the duvet.

Just so wonderful for Goonie to have gone from home being loved in with you guys and still feeling the love.

Perfect - have to say though you can see the mischief in his face can't you ???????  LOL    Laughing
