Fudge Fell terrier

It is with great sadness that we place Fudge in Rainbow Bridge. Tragically for his family he caught sight of a fox and ran through on to the road and was killed. We must all just accept that some die young and what a terrific life Fudge had with his family and they with him. In looking back we move our emotions beyond the accident into happy days and rejoice in his perfect dog status. Sorely missed.

Fudge's thread is below:
Fudge
Breed: Fell Terrier x
Age: ?
Cat friendly: Not tested
Dog friendly: Yes
Child friendly: Yes

Fudge is a handsome little chap who came to us from the pound. Fudge has settled in well at his foster home and is great with their two children and really friendly with other people, However he is not that friendly with other dogs at the moment, but is improving every day he goes out. His recall is good and he loves going for long walks, He has put on a bit of weight and is settling in to a good routine. Sadly he is managing to get out of the fosterers garden which isn't terrier-proof so he needed to be returned to kennels so he will be transported to ours on Friday.

Fudge travelled down on the front seat. He grumped a couple of times at arnie (who was sat behind me) but when told firmly , stopped, and settled down for a kip. He was good to handle, and obviously wanted a cuddle.

Just had a glimpse of Fudge over the past few days. Will focus soon. Doesn't look as serious as he does in the picture above.

Did you know...

Fudgee is a new word for sweetness

Fudge has a new bed and new ball..

Fudge loves balls, the bigger the better

Fudge has a new foster Mum and Dad who want to keep him

AND Fudgee loves Daddy and they both love footee!

Fudge was interested in his feathered friends ..yes we did notice one lick of the lips but we also witnessed him moving away to check out the rest of the garden despite the chickens still remaining within smell and sight!
Dee

Fudge doing really well. Very little interest in the chickens but as expected terrier interest in rabbit holes!! LOL

Has settled in really well with the family and they are all loving him and boy is he happy, and no wonder! His day starts off with 5.30 am run, excellent start to the day lots of lovely fresh smells and a perfect way to get an appetite for his breakfast!

Is enjoying lots of walks and cuddles through out the day and evening and has been as good as gold.

Whole family delighted with him and with those looks and such good behaviour who wouldn't be?????   Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Fudge has settled in well and is becoming more lively by the day    Laughing
His first tuggee toy (a ball on a rope) lasted all of 24 hours - we have hopes that a rubber replacement will withstand more time!
He loves exploring on his walks and searching out rabbit burrows:

It is sad that it is obvious that he was well loved at some point in his life as someone has put a lot of time into training into him as he knows all the usual commands with the exception of recall which needs working on.

He's very good and calm with the children (they adore him) and the chickens too - a couple of pecks through the chicken run from our head cock has well and truly deterred him from any lick of the lips.

We had an adventure this morning when Fudge decided to get himself and the extender lead stuck in a thicket of brambles down the park.  With no alternative but to release him from the lead thinking he was stuck fast too, the cheeky devil shuffled out backwards and legged it with his selective hearing in place.
Thankfully after an hour and a half of searching and calling he was found safe and sound and unperturbed - a big thank you to Michelle and friend, Lynne and Elaine xxx
He returned home shattered  after his little adventure (with a quivering but relieved Mum) :

He certainly has captured all of our hearts  love5

Rejoice!!!  Little rascal!

Had to share a quick update on Fudge...going from 'a lick of the lips' to 'good mates'...

But don't worry...he's not getting too soft...he still enjoys deer, bunnies and foxes!  A walk without coming back with a muddy face is unheard of!

Excuse the state of the garden.  It's a combination of chicken vandalism and 'works in progress'!   Rolling Eyes  Very Happy

Terriers don't come sweeter than Fudge.......forever in our memories sweet heart.

So very sad for everyone.  Hope the family can try to shut out the pain and let the beautiful sunlit memories pour through.  Off you go little one, run free.

run free at the bridge sweetheart. my thoughts with amanda and family ((hugs))

Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts.

We are absolutely devastated at the loss of Fudge - he has left a big hole in our hearts and lives and is also sorely missed in our local 'doggie' community.

He was a handsome chap, so intelligent and full of character.

I hope that where ever he may be now, that he is chasing deer, bunnies and foxes to his hearts delight - that would be his idea of heaven, bless him.
