Errol Black and White Staffie Cheshire
His Story: Found stray in Wales and unclaimed.
Salient points: Young Staffie x with a gentle temperament. Unassessed in a domestic situation. Responsive to training.
Advert: Errol is a young healthy Staffie cross who has come to us and won our hearts. He is smart in 'dress' and 'manners'. Very endearing character. He is clean in his kennel and walks along sides dogs nicely. Good in the car. In fact seems to really love dogs. Neutered and just going through vax. A true favourite with our voluntary dog walkers.
Errol is looking for a "fun life" with a good sized secure garden and lots of affection to give and receive. May be a Lab. Cross or Patterdale cross. Sooo much the charmer. To meet is to fall in love. Farnham

Opps there is another gorgeous staffie who nearly lost the 'right' to live. He comes to us on Monday

If he's said to be dog-friendly, wouldn't that help him find his forever home?

I met Errol today and I have to say that I would never have recognised him from that photo - he is lovely
He travelled beautifully in the boot of my car, studiously ignoring the noise going on around him. When we arrived at the kennels, there was a slight delay so when I opened the crate, he was out like a shot. Much to my astonishment, the collar he was wearing snapped and he was off like a flash He did look round and when he saw I was following, he carried on. By this point, I was really flustered but stopped, went down with my arms open and called him. In my panic, I called him Ashleigh, but he didn't hold it against me. He turned around and ran straight back into my arms We had a really big 'hug in' at that point
I am already in love with this dog
I did intend to get more representative photos tomorrow, but he is being whisked off with Lynne for ( ) so it will have to wait.
One gorgeous dog that won't be around long

Not the best pictures but you get a little better sense of him.
Snipped and chipped today. Loving boy and friendly with dogs. Now to cat test him!

Errol was a little wobbly today - I put it down to having the snip yesterday. I tried really hard to get some photos of him but he seemed almost afraid of the camera - in all the shots, where he hadn't turned his back, he looks petrefied
When we were out he was rushed by a very vocal terrier pup off lead and his reaction was to lie down very still, almost wishing it wouldn't see him and would go away
Hope Janet can get some better photos tomorrow - he is very little, only coming up to my knee. He is also incredibly gentle, only front paws coming off the ground to gently hug you - lovely, lovely boy
Will cat test him soon, when he is more himself.

re camera - If you had the sound on it might be that. Some animals don't like the beeps (or the flash). If I'm stating the obvious ignore me!
I loved the 'Ashleigh' story btw...

I'm in love again!!! Errol is gorgeous. We took him for a short walk today after his little op. I wanted to take him out for longer but didn't want him to get over bouncy. He pulled a bit on the lead when we set off but settled down quickly. He has a lovely shiney coat, a waggy tail and such a smiley face. He's very affectionate but gentle. We sat down with him half way and he likes to sit on your knee and wash your face and ears (and mum's glasses again!) all over. He wasn't interested in treats to start with but when we were sitting down he realised I had some liver cake in my pocket and tried every way to open the zip on my fleece to get to it. He jumped up a few times but very gently. He was very bright today and didn't seem to mind the camera. I hope these photos do him justice.

Those photos are much more representative Everybody says how gentle he is - how many dogs having been in kennels for as long as Errol has could be comfortably walked, just collar and lead, by a 71yr old?

Errol had a lovely walk with Ant and Laura today. He was so much more boisterous and I am very interested to see if it was because he has settled and feels more sure of himself or if it is how he feels he can relate to men. He clearly had a lovely time and was quite 'puppyish'
We will be able to tell tomorrow as he is going to have a day at the beach with Janet and Alwyn

We had a lovely day out in a country park with Errol today, despite the weather.
After the initial excitement when he realised he was going for a ride in the car, he washed mum's face, ears and glasses, wriggled about for a few minutes and settled down to enjoy the ride.
We walked for miles and he was very well behaved all day and so happy to meet other dogs and people. Everyone said what a handsome boy he is. He does jump up quite a bit for a cuddle, but he does it gently, especially with mum.
We went to a cafe for lunch and he was more interested in our sandwiches than the sausages and cheese in his kong, but he did sit patiently waiting for a crust - or 2.
He fell asleep on mum's knee in the car on the way home. Sooo sweet. He's great

Errol was absolutely bursting with energy today. I think it was my fault because I walked past his kennel twice, once with Tegan and then with Tia and he must have thought he'd been forgotten, poor boy.
He coudn't give me enough kisses and wouldn't stop wriggling about for what seemed like ages. I took him for a long walk in the woods and he was very excited to meet a few more dogs and people. He was very interested when we came across a horse - but generally he shows no interest in watching or chasing birds/squirrels etc. He seems to walk down the path in a straight line most of the time and is easy to manage on the lead.
I took him on a long lead and he comes running back whenever he's called. He sits for treats and I'm sure it'd be easy to train him to do a lot more as he's very keen to please. I really hope someone will give this gorgeous boy a chance soon.

The gorgeous Errol has continued to do really well, he has settled and found his feet and just continues to be such a joy to know
I took him to the vets today to have his castrate wound checked and to have his second vax. He jumped into the crate in the boot as good as gold but did want to chat all the way to the vets
Once there he needed to say 'hi' to everybody and get up onto the window sill to check out the passing world. He gave a couple of cats a cursory glance but no more. His wound has healed well and he had his second vax. He also had a general check over - heart, throat, ears, eyes, teeth, all in tip top condition. I did ask the vet to guesstimate his age and he said between 6 - 8 mths, no more than 8mths
I know aging a dog cannot be an exact science but putting his age so much younger really does make sense, he has the most gorgeous set of knashers - startling white, and his manner is can be very puppyish. Now he has found his feet and feels comfortable with both Janet and me, he has come out of his shell and revealed a wonderful playful character, really eager to please. Putting his age so much younger really makes everything fit just right.
He was very quiet in the car on the way back and I should I known, I should have known I always leave the handle of the lead outside the crate so I can hold onto it before opening the crate. I dutifully did so only to find when he hopped out that once again with Errol, I was holding a lead with no dog attached to the other end This time he had chewed clean through a very good lead - I was even tempted to look for scissors in the crate Luckily for me, once again I called him and he ran back for a cuddle. At this rate, he is going to get me fired
If he is as young as we think he might be, some family is going to strike it so lucky. He is an absolute gem - loves the world, both people and other dogs, is so eager to please and really really affectionate. He could blend so perfectly into a family right now and be trainned to be the best dog ever

We brought Errol home to meet our 2 today. Before meeting our dogs, I took him for a walk on the common and met a lively staffie x JRT. It had a couple of pops at him - Errol took no notice at all and I was very proud of him. Then we met another small JRT and they played together beautifully for a while. It was great to watch. Both owners were very impressed with Errol and made a big fuss of him.
We then met Paddy and Bella and as you can see from the photos, no problems at all walking and taking treats together. When we got inside the house, Errol was very laid back, but Paddy was a bit growly so we decided not to spoil a lovely day out for Errol and kept them separate. We had a cup of tea and a cuddle with him and he fell asleep in the car on the way back. Can't say enough good things about this lovely boy

I walked the gorgeous Errol today. It was my first solo walk for RR and my first ever Staffie, and it was wonderful! My shoelaces were undone for the first 20 minutes or so, because every time I stopped and tried to do them up, Errol thought I was stopping just to give him a cuddle At one point he even lay down on my feet, wanting his tummy to be tickled.....what a love he is!
