Dillon - Collie xPlease meet Dillon...
He is about 1 years old and originally came to me as an 8 week old puppy as part of an unwanted litter.
The lady who adopted him from me asked to adopt him from me and against my instincts I agreed and she ensured that he would be neutered at 5 months old and his second vaccinations be completed. I was told by her at the 5 month mark that he had his operation and all went well.
Unfortunately a few days ago the lady went out there was an incident with an entire male Jack Russell that she was fostering for another rescue. Although she did not see who the trouble makers were, she had assumed that it was Dillon and his friend Meg who was another Border Collie bitch.
I found out that she was looking for a rescue space for Dillon and because all animals are given back-up for life from this rescue he had to come back here and so she handed him back.
He lives well with other dogs and is quite happy here with 6 others at present although he is a bit fruity. He has random moments with cats. He is normally fine with them, but every now and then he has a bit of a chase, so in this dogs case I would recommend confident cats, but they cannot be left alone together without supervision in case he gets over excited.
I have noticed a little food aggression with other dogs but not with people, however he is so respectful of people that this could be sorted quickly. He listens to you and is eager to learn.
Dillon has got a great appetite and in his previous home lived with 5 children and was great with all ages.
I have found out that the previous owner never walked him and his exercise was only in the back garden. This must have been tough for him being a Border Collie and such a thinking breed, but it has not ruined his temprement and he has NO neurotic tendancies that Collies are noted for - chasing lights or shadows etc.
He loves to be cuddled, but equally loves to explore and enjoys his walks. He can be walked for hours, but is also happy with shorter walks if that is what the day allows.
Dillon could easily be trained for agility or flyball and would love obedience training.
Dillon is going in to be castrated and first vaxed on Monday as needless to say the previous owners did not get the necessaries done.

I have got an enquiry through RR so will follow that first.
He came to me as a 'Corgi x Jack Russell' when he was 8 weeks old. The people had two entire crossbreeds who were breeding at every season. This was the bitches last litter as this one nearly killed her through exhaustion. They were advertised in the paper as the above and people were buying them as small lap dogs. The puppies that I got were the leftovers of the litter that had not been sold. I imagine that the people who bought them were quite shocked when their puppies grew up!!!
I think he is Collie x Jack Russell x mutt. Mostly Collie, but he has the tail of a Jack Russell which actually looks rather stupid!

Well here we are in lovely Weymouth and Dillon came along for the ride so that I could put him through his paces with kids! My friend has five children who are very dog savvy and range in ages 1 year old to 10 years old.
Dillon was in his absolute glory. He has spent hours running about the garden with them and plays fetch lovely. He has the normal Collie interest in playing fetch but not to the point of obsession.
He has spent the whole weekend so far washing the babies face, following the second youngest around asking for a game and has fitted into a normal homelife with ease.
We had a field walk today and his lead training was assessed. Perfect except when he saw a strange cat. Easy to walk and responsive when off lead.
I have made the decision to home Dillon away from Maisie because they do tend to bring the worst out of each other. I think that with separate training that they will blossom.
Dillon has someone coming to view him on Tuesday with a view to reserving him.
