Daisy Labrador x Dec 08 Bordon Surrey
Her Story: Daisy is a Labrador cross who was bred and ended up 'too old to sell' at 9 months. She is currently kennelled with her litter sister Polly who is yellow in colour.
Salient points: Daisy is a Labrador cross 10 month old pup. Nervous and needing a confident dog and family.
Advert: Daisy has just come to us and finding kennel life a challenge. She is beautiful and mimics her Labrador genetics. She so needs a confident family who can accept her as she is currently and help her to gain her confidence. She hasn't been walked was living with children and cats. Needs a quiet household without too many comings and goings so perhaps visiting children. Daisy is great with other dogs ideally needs to be homed with another so she can learn from them and feed off their assurances. Spayed and gaining vac. status.
Daisy really needs a dog who can inspire her with confidence and enable her to venture into new zones and teach her new skills. When she came despite their fear, she had no aggressive tendencies at all. She needs work on her housetraining especially with the initial nerves of being in a new situation. Her nervousness will lessen with time. She is so lovely she will enthrall the Labrador owner ... and reward them.
Please visit Daisy's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on our forum to find out more about her and follow her progress.
If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
"Please note that this dog is currently in kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".
Daisy's thread below::::
Daisy came today with her sister. She has a brindle reflection in her fur. They are being spayed tomorrow and we will get pictures.

Yes here are the before pictures on Daisy with Polly her sister. The Team are just getting going on developing her confidence and feelings of trust and safety. I would suggest she is walked with a confident dog rather than with her sister. Spayed today and returned to kennels.
Had trouble getting them into the car and walking ..seemed to have 'pavement glue' on their under belly bless them.

Walked Daisy and Polly together today. Daisy At first she was a little scared in her kennel but still encouraging - she wants to be friends, is just wary. She loves affection and is interested in her walk despite being a bit worried. She is more confident than Polly but htye both do rely on each other quite a lot. Just a short walk today because both girls decided a sit down was a good idea! They have had little experience of life outside their home but are keen to find out about the world.
If circumstances were different I would be tempted to at least foster these gorgeous girls.

Daisy in the car because Daisy is in care..and belongs! No that isn't Polly that is Scooby her new partner. They are getting to know one another and just before the hatchback door was closed Daisy licked Scooby on the lips. Ever seen a Labrador blush ?

Daisy has now come back to kennels due to her needing work on housetraining. People need to remember that this dog has never known being a pet and needs to be trained as a young puppy would. This is a small hurdle to overcome if you ask me and it is such a shame that she has been returned for such a ridiculous reason. I have many dogs come through my own rescue who have housetraining issues and given time they do learn.
However, she was happy to be back as was Cooper who insisted that she share his duvet tonight. Shame that Cooper will be going home soon. Daisy has cheered him up. He has been getting a bit bored with the fogeys that were put out to play with him and Daisy fits the bill perfectly.

For anyone comtemplating rehoming a dog who has house training issues I would just like to say that 3 of the dogs I have rehomed from rescues had not been house trained and it is NOT difficult, it takes a little time and patience and consistency. Please do not be put off a lovely dog because of this.
To rehome a dog who has been kennelled and may never have lived in a home and return it after two days for not being clean is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Delightful DaisyIsn't she beautiful and housetraining really shouldn't be difficult.
Mossie came to me as an abused dog of 10 years of age. He had never really been indoors in a house before (yes, I probably am mad). He had travelled in a crate from Ireland and was clearly bursting for a pee when I met him but I was a bit aprehensive about what would happen when we got home. He knew from the outset not to go in the kitchen (where his bed was). We got through the first day without any major problems but I must confess that I was watching carefully. Early evening he calmly walked up to my beautiful huge orchid, lifted his leg and peed all over it. It survived, so did I.
A couple of days of puppy training : mopping up, using a mop towel to put on newspaper and then putting it by the door and then outside reinforced with lots of praise / treats and it was cracked. Now, obviously Mossie was one of the most gifted collies to set foot on the earth, so it might take a little bit longer for another dog. Having also housetrained puppies, I would say that an older, calmer dog who really, really wants to please is MUCH easier. These lovely dogs come to us as rescues and they are so glad to be loved that they will learn your family ways so quickly for a treat and a word of praise.
If you've got this far, you must be looking at this beautiful girl. Go on, give her a chance and she'll love you forever.

And lets not forget that even the best housetrained dogs can be prone to accidents when placed into a new environment.
Bless, I hope it won't be too long before a forever home is found.

Daisy has moved into foster today with Jean and Luke. Sadly Jean lost Amber her old shepherd recently and Ozzie her other dog has been depressed since. We are hoping Daisy will give Ozzie his interest in life again.

I'm so pleased for Daisy, I felt rather guilty when I found out She had kept Cooper company in kennels and when he came home she was left behind. I would have liked to bring her home as company for Cooper but hubby needs to be approached very slowly on such matters!!

daisymy other dog died on tuesday. daisy has now adapted to being on her own, got another foster in for the day a male mastiff cross they chased and played.
they shared a chew, shared their dinner no problems at all.
Daisy was picked up by me monday she had one accident tuesday, her house training is now finished no problems,
a very quiet dog will lay there sleeping if i am sitting down watching telly or on here. Nite time she goes striaght away to her bed in my bedroom and dont move till i get up in the morning
i dont know she is here, not really bothered about walks, but of course i take her out. Daisy walks nicely at my side used to all traffic now, very friendly wants to say hello to everyone.
my grandchildren was round yesterday a bit nervous with them but she dont see children much, but i am sure this would be easy to overcome.
One of my cats have showed her whos boss. Meet the ferret, grabbed her but when told to leave she did.
She is still a bit nervous and follows me everywhere, slept on my towel while i had a bath the other day(i usually have a shower)
Sweet little girl!!!
ps glad polly is doing well!!

Jean, Polly dog would not be the dog she is today without your help and we truely thank you for that
We are so so sorry to hear about your 2 dogs, such sad news
I am sure daisy is coming on leaps and bounds with you
Its been 3 weeks today that we brought polly home. She is really a member of our family now
We think that she may have a problem with her legs though, she finished a course of anti inflams but even after a short lead walk she starts limping, so back to the vets this week
we took her to the park today, clara was off lead and polly on the extender, she got so overexcited she pulled me right off my feet. Prob looked quite funny to everybody else but shook the wind out of me. she walked lovely after that though!!
Thank you again for being part of her rescue

Daisy is doing very well! have had another dog here since last week, her confidence seem to grow with another dog around!
Have only had her in the car twice, first time Lyn and i had to lift her in car, second time i showed her how to get on the back seat, then she done it herself. Today because the other dog Micky jumped in the back she did , lays down good as gold while i am driving as Micky does.
She is a bit of a jumper goes over my safty gate in kitchen, also my gate in garden.
When i first got her i put her in a crate as i did not know what to expect of her house training, i left it up and she now goes in it automatically when she feels like it. when i go out I have to shut her in it, if i dont she roams the house and nicks my cuddly animals, will also have a slight chew on my slippers. Trainers left unattended when iam in usually end up in the garden.
Been letting her of the lead the last few days recall is usually very good, she has found out about squirrals and tries to catch them. Also have scented the foxes round here and tries to find them.
Her food dont touch her sides when she eats, cause if she didnt eat it quick Micky would have it as well as his own. So she is a very good eater.lol
It would be good if she found a home with another dog, in the week ive had Micky she has learnt so much from him.
