Absolutely gutted our 8 year old staffy / collie cross Bailey has had the op today to repair a ruptured cruciate ligament in his back leg. Crying or Very sad

We understand all about the op etc but can anyone give a bit of advice on helping him cope with the long rest he now has in front of him.

Bailey is very active and also a bit highly strung and he hates to not be able to do his normal routine. We know we have to be very very strict with him about resting but would appreciate any advice on helping him accept his new routine.

thats a long haul.
is he cage rest only? something like a stuffed kong or boredom buster so that he has to work for his meals and get rid of some frustration by chewing?
