Picked up as stray in Waverley not claimed
Been in Kennels 3.5 months
Vaxed
Not Speyed.
Not mixed with other dogs
Was rehomed from Treetops to live with another Bitch but they had a few "disagreements" so she got returned to Treetops.
Might be a good agility dog. |
Cerys is spayed today and chipped.

Poor Carol was spayed today, but they found she was in season. After the operation she started to bleed. She has been kept in the vets over night to care for her.

Dear Carol enjoying a walk after coming out of the vets. Trying to contain her enthusiasm as her health is still under par following her spay. How do you explain to her to slow down..She met joggers, cyclists and a few dogs really well. Now with Dee Peter and family for a few days recouperation.
Carol is very close to being a pedigree Smooth Fox terrier. Indeed the Parson's Jack Russell is a very close cousin but in Carol she could pass for either.

Carol had a good night sleep last night. Slept downstairs and didn't hear a peep from her. Is house trained as there were no accidents during the night.
When I first met Carol she was very "wound" up being at being in kennels and anyone that would have met her would of thought how will I cope with a hyper dog. I can't believe how different she is in a home environment a real pleasure to have. Cuddled up on the sofa with Callum watching TV and happy to go with the flow.
Hoping this special lady finds family and doesn't have to go back to kennel life. She deserves better.

Carol is a very different Dog and changes every day we have her. Coming to work with me and learning not to bark when she sees other Dogs. She does get on with other Dogs but has to bark when she sees them. I personally think she is being typical "female" and loves a chat from any distance!! She loves the kids, her play mates and does enjoy everyone being together. For any football fans she would make a great defender and loves to play with balls, any size will do Carol is not fussy.
Meeting our bomb proof Gus..
Carol is a really fab girl and would do well in a family home. She will need time to adjust to life outside kennel and has so many good qualities and lots of love to give.

Had the lovely chance to meet Cerys yesterday. What a lovely little girl she is. I drove to Guildford to pick her up and although our journey plans changed we still had a lovely time. Her homing has been slightly changed so off she went to a fantastic place in Weston.
This wonderful couple, Alison and Ian run what can only be described as doggy heaven training camp. I picked my mum up and she cuddled the lovely Cerys all the way from Wokingham to Weston which is near Hitchin. This lovely couple offered to foster little dogs we have but not only that to train them while they stay with them.
The wonderful Alison let my mum and I go in and watch Cerys being greeted by their pack. What an education on how to get it so right. Cerys who seems a lovely girl anyway got introduced one by one or two by two to different breeds, gender and energy level. She loved it. Each dog brought a different gift into the meeting. The one I loved the most was Foggy. He is a black labrador who has been trained by Alison and Ian to take hold of the trailing long lead of dogs they are training as they whistle so the dog soon learns it has no choice but to "recall" back to them. It was a joy to watch.
I cannot praise this couple enough - yes it was a long way to go but boy it was worth it.
We left Cerys shattered from tearing around a field with about 6 other dogs. She was loving every minute of it.
To Alison and Ian a massive Thank You. I cannot believe what you do at your place and the gift you are offering us as a rescue. Cerys has landed firmly on her feet and I know this experience will be so beneficial to her or any other dog that goes there.
It is like a Hotel for dogs but with training and good manners taught- love it and loved meeting 2 such great dog lovers who really know what they are doing.
Thanks once again Alison and Ian

Cerys is setting in well, she absolutely loves the wild part at the bottom of the garden.
She is now Cerys, Welsh goddess of harvest and the countryside.
Her whistle recall is going well and her onlead walking training has started. Two years of lack of attention to catch up on. She is a gorgeous girl though. Lovely natured and very good with other dogs and children.
She and Mr M my other terrier are now firm friends. They hit it off instantly and race around together.
Is she a whippet /fox terrier cross? Everyone who sees her comments on how like a whippet she is, although with the fox terrier head and stance. The whippet is there in the speed and some of her personality. She is a great collar slipper, so is walked on a harness and I am wondering if a whippet collar might be the right thing for her.
Can anyone advise me how to change her petlog registration, the vet cannot do it fo me.
First weeks report a good girl, working hard to be even better.

Update on Cerys. On her hols in Cornwall.Cerys has just returned from a long weekend from Cornwall. Socks walked off as instructed by Dee.
She took to camping with her usual bouncy enthusiasm. We did about 20 miles of costl and other footpaths over the three days. She even found the sea very interesting. None of the usual terrier Ugh its wet.
Once her recall gets there she will probably swim. She is still not trustworthy off a lead being an obsessive cat chaser. Her manners are improving all the time. She walks well now, no more rodeo performances. She even behaves when she meets other dogs.
Much beloved and wonderful company.

Ok first tears of the day. Only came back yesterday and wanted to catch up on past doggy friends. Had pleasure of meeting both Cerys and new mum and a better match you could not have.
She so deserves this lovely new life she has. Well done for pairing such a great girl and new mum.
I know Cerys will now have a fantastic life with her new very committed forever mum. Well done both of you.
