Bruno Short legged short haired JRT Bagshot Kennelled
His Story Bruno was bought as a puppy to live with mother and daughter. 9 months later 2 related puppies were purchased. The three dogs we living without a garden, without walks and in amongst a smog of cigarette smoke and mess. Bruno and his younger brother began to have tiffs and so we took his younger brother , we were asked to take Bruno on 1 week later.
Salient points Recovering from a flea investation. Coping in kennels well. Socialises with dogs. Has lived with cats. Intelligent dog who has missed out in life and now catching up!
Advert Bruno came into rescue in early September and is showing himself to be a great Jack! he is learning and adapting well and we can see him picking up. A short legged, short haired jack who is rather stocky in build and Jack through and through in character. he needs to be taken slowly and allowed to pick up with training and approval as he has lead a sheltered life up until now.
Bruno is enjoying walks and being made a fuss of. He smiles and laugh with every opportunity. Report from Polly who has helped him on his way.."Bruno is delightful and the most endearing little character! Although feeling a little lost in kennels, he is a happy, waggy, friendly little boy just desperate for attention and cuddles.
He has been to the vets where he was so relaxed he fell asleep on the table, travelled beautifully in the car, greeted everyone - human and canine - with enthusiasm and exuberance. He has apparently lived harmoniously with a cat although this hasn’t been tested at the kennels.
He is neutered, chipped, vaxed and flea treated. Although he hasn’t lived in a home where manners were at the forefront of his existence, he did seem very responsive to suggestions that he calm his sometimes over enthusiastic greetings." Currently kennelled in Bagshot Surrey

He is quite a stocky lad, solidly built and very handsome!
difficult to get photos that show his wonderful personality as the weather was foul and he knew a big chew was waiting for him in his kennel, but this is bouncy Bruno: -

He looks lovely.
If I didn't already have his brother in foster, he'd be coming to me
I could always bring Simba down one day so they could meet and have a play - what do you think?

I am going to see Bruno this weekend to see if he is ok and hopefully have a play and share some treats! I'm sure he would love some visitors - he really does adore attention and a kennel environment is not what he is used to .
If he feels like it, I thought we might go walkies in Lightwater Country Park - lots of good smells there!!

Bruno had a lovely outing this morning . We met lots of doggie friends on a sunny walk and he behaved impeccably. I thought he might be a bit manic having been cooped up in kennels but he wasnt at all - just pleased to be out, rooting in the undergrowth and taking in the delicious smells
He showed no interest whatsoever in the multiple dogs we met, and looked back constantly for reassurance. He adores cuddles , having his ears scratched and lots of kisses! He met children and was very gentle, no jumping up.
Afterwards he was invited to his new doggie friends house!! No marking despite the lovely new dog smells everywhere. He does jump all over the furniture as this is what he was allowed to do in his previous home but he is very responsive when told to jump off, and comes to his name immediately.
He is a truly lovely boy, full of character but intelligent and gentle by nature. Totally unphased by the masses of dogs he met.
Some pics from our walk and his visit afterwards:

It is hard to say anything negative about Bruno - any Jack fan will just love this boy and it is difficult to fault him . I took him out for a long walk this afternoon with my tribe and he was a dream! Came bouncing out of his kennel, leapt in the car despite my rabble yacking away - not a murmur from Bruno! He behaved beautifully on the walk - am tempted to let him go off lead. Loves everything he meets and loves his stops for cuddles and kisses - he's a very affectionate boy.
He is gaining a circle of fans and tomorrow we have a special day lined up for him to keep him cheerful while he waits for his forever home to appear .
He is really loving, cheeky little chap and will make someone so happy

We are trying to give Bruno some fun days out so today he went for a lovely morning walk and then back to his doggie friend's house for some play. Then, this afternoon I took him to my son's football match - I wanted to see if he would react to lots of people and dogs and children but he just loved it all!! He sat on the bench next to me, no barking, he kissed all the children, had a walk and was admired by everyone. They all commented on his wonderful behaviour This lovely boy just cant put a paw wrong - AND he doesnt chase cats and seems fine with horses.

I only registered yesterday that Bruno has lived with a cat. Have amended his advert and am sure this will raise his profile and help significantly to find his home.

I have 'bumped' into Bruno several times on walks and he greets me with the most lovely kisses and licks. He now swaggers about in a very fetching bandana and is adored in his new home! . He has such a grin on his face - and so does Anne, his new 'mum'. He loves his new doggy friends and curls up in bed with them when they visit his house.
He is off lead on all his walks and has been a really good boy, coming to his name or a whistle. He has learnt 'sit' 'down' 'give paw' as well. He does have a bit of separation anxiety but Anne is working on this.
His sore skin from an untreated flea allergy is almost completely healed and he is having soothing baths and receiving evening primrose oil so soon he will sparkle in his coat to match his spirit. He is such a dear boy and is just loving his new life .
