Abby & Poppy Jul 95 Austrialian Terriers Plumstead SE Lo
Poppy & Abby An elderly couple of Australian Terriers around the 14 yr mark who are litter sisters; harmonious dynamic duo who are in very good health apart from hearing loss which has meant they need to stay on the lead outside. Both spayed, chipped, full dental recently & vax’d. Owner by a retired doctor in his nineties. He wants to make provision for them & is finding it hard to offer them walks etc, as visiting his wife in a nursing home. Very dear souls. Abby owned since pup; Poppy came to join from breeder at age 5yr, 6yr ago. Richmond Surrey

Moved Abby and Poppy to "fostered" as their owner is getting desperate. I met them and walked them, took them to the vets. They would mix and move in with any combination but are older ladies.

Maureen above: Abby left and Poppy right..enjoying their first cuddle. Yes Maureen is delighted with the 2 little girls who are a little bewildered but have big smiles on their faces. Giant treat session fell upon them within 10 mins of arrival to their amazement and delight.
All three are going to have a wonderful social life together, and lots of chit chats

We 3 Poppy and Abby have had a Turkey and Vitalin lunch and are now curled up on Benjie's beds asleep and seem very contented.
They have been introduced to my friend Bill who is delighted with them.
They are very sociable little ladies and seem to like being here already.
I have given them a short brushing and will start a proper grooming session tomorrow. Best to let them feel settled before I do that.
Abby is on the thin side and needs to be given priority food in my opinion.
Although this breed is unknown to me the word that springs to mind is 'enchanting'....Thanks Dee and a special Thanks to Lynne for making the journey to bring them to me.
You really are 'Special' people indeed. (((((HUGS)))))
Tell their previous owner they will be loved and cared for here for the rest of their little lives.

Abby & Poppy's 1st 24 hours!An update from Maureen ...
"Abby & Poppy seem to have settled extremely well. Abby saw herself in my full length bedroom mirror and stood growling at herself.
Slept well last night and were ready to say Goodmorning when I came downstairs. After breakfast we went for a walk and met 6 of our doggy friends and owners. Not a growl from any of them. We had a leisurely walk for about an hour and they loved it. They are very sedate on the leads. They both went to bed when we got home.....they are such well mannered little ladies Very Happy It is now 5.00pm and they are both having dinner in the kitchen. I hope they like being here as much as I like having both of them. I am giving them a couple of days to get used to me and their new home and on Saturday they are being bathed and groomed. Will take more photos after".

Both had a lovely afternoon walk and are so well behaved on their leads. They can wander around on the long extending lead and investigate. No problems so far.
They are both eating well and enjoying fresh cooked chicken that I am adding to their food. I am hoping they will put on a little weight soon.
This evening they both had their first bath after being de-knotted and brushed. Ears cleaned and look really great. Both curled up asleep now
after a busy day.
Will take more pictures as soon as possible. xxmaureen 7/11/09
