25 Oct 2009 - Hungerford Town Hall Steps, BerksWe have got the use of the steps outside Hungerford Town Hall on SUNDAY 25 OCT. They are covered on three sides so although we might get cold, we should stay dry
Hungerford Town Hall is in the High Street in Hungerford, so hopefully we can get a lot of passers by.
We can fit about 4 big tables (provided) so I am planning a pre Christmas Sale, Tombola etc....
So come everybody, who is up for helping out [/b]

Well done Karen, that sounds fantastic, thank you. So sorry I can't help you with it, but I already have something on that weekend and it's a 2 hour each way journey from darkest Essex.

Have just changed the date for this to Sunday 25 Oct (there was a cancellation). This is a better day as there is a Farmers Market on so the town should be a bit busier

I wanted to try and locate the banner for this one. Who has it at the moment?
Posters are up in various places in Hungerford so everybody needs to keep their fingers crossed for good weather to bring everybody out!

I have it Karen! i was trying to remember where it was this morning so that i can post it to you!
I don't think i will be able to come to this one either, i have been trying to rearrange stuff so that i can come and help out but at the moment, i can't
Do you need me to post you any dog biscuits too?? I have lots of batches of dough so i can either cut them and cook them or just post you the dough and you can roll them out and bake them if you want???

Brilliant, thank you
Would love to have some biscuits - don't mind either way but I don't have posh cutters
Is it possible for you to email some of your signage (tombola, pound stall etc) as I think yours is better than the ones I came up with!!
It is a long, long way for you to come - and you have done more than your fair share

Well, my Dad has done a fantastic job putting signs up for us in and around Hungerford and even laminating them and the forecast is good (at the moment!)
I will be setting up at about 9am and will stay for as long as there are enough people around - fingers crossed for a good day

Sadly a poorly little mite meant a disturbed night and so a slightly depleted and tired sales force today
However, the weather was good and there was lots of poeple around. One of the highlights of the day was meeting the wonderful Ben (rehomed earlier this year) who brought his 'sister' Bronwyn and Jackie to visit Ben looked and behaved wonderfully - so much so that Jackie had to answer lots of questions about him and his breed from another interested party So wonderful to see and what a fantastic ambassador It made our day
I learnt alot about sales technique from my son, who managed to sell everything above marked price and my father who kept shouting out 'oih - that dog of yours needs some homemade biscuits' - thank goodness it was people he knew
We had to pack up at about 2pm to rescue the Florence Nightengales but in that time we managed to make GBP203.50
I spoke to lots of lovely people and our poster now has a permenant place outside the town hall, so hopefully something will come of it.
Can't thank my family enough for the time and effort they put in today

She hasn't told the half of it..3 very long conversations with potential staffie owners. One excellent family had the questionnaire in within a hour of getting home; homecheck being organised and hoping to meet them next Sunday! Karen and family thank you sooo much! Smithfield market next I feel.

That is FANTASTIC Karen and co!!!!! We might have to borrow some of them for our Christmas events!!
I always say that talking to people is just as important as the cash raised!! Every event that RR does, raises their profile just a little bit.
Smashing effort! Healing vibes to the poorly one!! xx
