Very chuffed that you are putting us ahead of Strictly & XFactor  Very Happy Feel very special  Wink

On a serious note, thank you so much for taking the initiative to help - fundraising events are very thin on the ground at this time of year and we, as you know, are desparate for funding.

If anyone out there wants to help Angela, Julie & family please drop them a p.m.

Plus if anyone is considering running their own event and needs some help, guidance or info just give me a shout.  Very Happy

Laughing Fab - well done all of you. I am collecting thoughts for Kensington and if there is some 'thoughts' left over after the event, will post to you, if you pm me your address Wink

Just what we need at this time of year Exclamation

Good Evening from an extremely wet and windy Hemel Hempstead......  Laughing

As you can imagine the elements were against us this evening....... we managed to set up the soggy stall and the adult and children's tombolas were very popular with the fantastic people who braved the weather this evening..... NO-ONE left without a prize and an RR flyer....... Belle was stunning in her wetlook coat and pink bandana... and attracted many dog lovers and an extremely large gorgeous Irish wolfhound who looked DOWN longingly at the Liver Cake.........
Angela, Tony, Ollie and I took turns to hold the gazebo down and Bex shouted her head off at the passers by and did a sterling job collecting money....!!!  Wink

Sadly the evening was not as lucrative as we would have liked but we have tried to spread the RR word.....

....our saturated total...... was £64.50.........

We have a lot of prizes left and I am looking into an INDOOR event in December so that we may be able to attend to bump up the profits....

Many thanks to Angela and Belle, my lovely family, not forgetting my husband who has lost the instructions on how to erect our Gazebo  Rolling Eyes, and the Co-op for the lovely bottle of red wine which I am just about to open.....!!!!  Razz

Lots of Love....... The Hertfordshire Soggy-Knicker Brigade...... XXXXXXX

PS Photos may follow when the camera dries out.....!!!!!

Laughing Well done, all of you. The weather has been foul and you must have done a sterling job to raise that amount  Laughing

A glass of red being raised to you all  Wink

Ah bless you all for braving the elements!  Yep Lynne's right, it's not all about money and you just never know what good will come out of it  Very Happy Fingers crossed.

Sure Julie will do the bottle of red justice  Wink
belles mum

Belle and I have just about dried out Very Happy I think she is in a bad mood with me for dragging her out on such a grim night, but she was the star attraction (sitting pride of place on the table as it meant abit of shelter under the gazebo!)...money not great tonight but as well as can be due to the weather, and really cant stess how much hard work Julie, Tony and family did for the event, RR are very lucky to have them as part of the family.
Also met one very keen potential terrier adoptee so if one dog finds its forever home out of tonight it will be more than worthwhile.

Next time an indoor event I think!
Paul&Annie

Well done to all of the team.  I can't believe that you sound disappointed! That is £64.50 that RR didn't have, but has now thanks to your hard work.  Plus the good humoured way that you guys spread the RR word is priceless advertising, you never know where it may lead to for one of the dogs.  Looking forward to seeing the photos.

Keenly awaited  Wink

Fantastic work Ladies!!!! I know you must be disappointed with the amount raised but i often say that the amount raised at events no way reflects the effort put in-if it did, we would raise thousands every time!!!

I can imagine how difficult it must have been with the weather etc, so well done to you all for sticking it out. I often say too, that it isn't just about the money raised on the day, every event raises our profile and makes people aware of us and that there is an alternative to the big rescues! You have now given us a presence in an area that we hadn't touched before!! well done to you all!!!!!!!!!!  Very Happy  Very Happy

Hi everyone, many thanks for your lovely comments..... the photos as promised, we're sorry the quality is not good....... but you can all have a laugh at me in my 'little mop cap'...... You will notice that there are no pics of Tony 'the chimney sweep'......!!!

Lovely Liver Cake!!

Belle....... (I could be laying in front of my fire....warm AND dry...)

'Right Bex..... you grab that customer.... I'll keep hold of the Gazebo..... remember.... teamwork!!!!!'

'Psssst Mum.... there's Oliver Twist behind us.......'!!

'Right....... if I don't get at least TEN BAGS of Liver Cake to take home..... I am NEVER coming out with you again....OK, MUM???????'

Good Luck for the next event!!!!
