Homed

Homing requirements: Tyler is adaptable and his family needs to adapt to his needs and you have a great match! Tyler doesn't like to be closed off eg crated. Tyler's hearing may be impaired.

His Story: Tyler was handed into the pound in Dec. 12 by a man who was very ill and being admitted into hospital and his last task was to ensure Tyler was safe. Tyler has been neutered and vax'd.

Advert: Tyler is a thoroughly pleasant dog! His character charms as he bonds and flatters; sideles up to his new friend and smiles with purpose into their countenance. Tyler is a befriender and becomes the shadow. He needs a work from home or retired person to be that devoted companion to..then his purpose in life is complete. He is clean in his kennel and welcomes dogs up to say hello but outside he hardly pays dogs attention he has purpose in his walk and if you stop he is back by your side.

Tyler is like a little French Bulldog. †He has the short muzzle, bold 'pop' eyes, dainty walk and isn't 'muscular' but does have a hint of Staffie friendliness. Tyler is in good condition and we think he is 8 or 9 years but his small frame will hopefully make him a long liver. Cant see any problems with him around children but suspect he is looking for a quieter life with pleasant walks and pottering around a summer garden...oh what a wish!

Referral Details: One of the London pounds had 10 dogs in and needed to reduce their numbers so I agreed to go over and take 2 ...on the journey knew I would have to take 3; actually there, I took 4! Little Tyler; George; Pal and Goldie

Here is Tyler in an up beat excited mood in the paddock having spent 4 months in his pound in inner London. He is an older boy who is a wonderful character. He sat very satisfied beside me on our 2 hour journey to the kennels. He is "as pleased as punch" to be with us as are we to welcome little Tyler. He looks very much the French Bulldog in the fur but one ear flops which is sweet!

Amy are you allowed favourite?

Catrina solace after a hard day..

Tyler is like an extra strong mint..he refreshs, is very very sweet and makes you feel all warm inside. He is a tiny tot about 14-15" to the shoulder and in the fur looks like a French Bull dog. He is compact and such a dear dear character. He is very personable and smiles away as he involves himself with people around or whatever is happening ..he is there and naturally part of the scene. Great with dogs meets but doesn't really take too much notice he is a people person. Wouldn't like a dog jumping all over him but would be like to be water off a ducks back. He might be hard of hearing, he does have some hearing but a little dulled. He comes over and sits on your feet as if "ahh well I'm here now time to chill".

This is being sat on by Tyler!

I had the joy of taking Tyler out today! And what a little joy he is!

My other half, Ollie, took him out on Saturday and he was a little hesitant to go to the end of his lead, but was not wary of him. On approaching the kennel he does bark, but tail is up so assume its not a warning bark. When it was time to leave his kennel, sit and stay commands worked and he didn't need an restraint or distraction.

Pretty much same again today, apart from I had him single leaded on his harness with an extender and as soon as he was ahead of George and Lottie and I could give him some freedom, he was off! Making little cute snuffling noises as he sniffed his way along the path, checked behind regularly to ensure you WERE still coming and no real pulling or other issues. Did try to get close to Lottie but knowing whats she's like with jumping all over, thought it wasn't too wise.

All in all, a charming little chap with impeccable manners!

We have a little house guest for a couple of days as he is going to have some dental work done at the vets. This afternoon he went to a football tournament and it was like he was on celebrity walkabout! He just went and sat next to people until they fussed him! He bumped into Jane ( a walker from the kennels) and we both just had to laugh at him rolling on his back for a belly rub from total strangers  :D

.......and meeting Ben (again , this dog will not stay on four paws if he has the opportunity to roll over and have a belly rub!!)

....and I am sure Tyler won't mind me telling you but he has a really endearing little thing he does .... I thought he was chewing his bed ..... but he was just sucking it!! Rolling Eyes

I didn't walk Tyler Saturday, but we had him out on the grass for a little while afterwards to play and here are some lovely photos my friend took of him and his smile! He did fetch the toy and semi-knew the drop command although I think he was a little hesitant to give the toy over. He came when called and if you patted your legs although he wouldn't return just to his name, but this could be his hearing. I'm sorry there's so many but I couldn't make a decision to cut them because he shines through in all of them! Please excuse the open mouth in one...I've not mastered the art of closing it yet!

He truly is a happy little man! Even after all that excitement, he went quietly into his kennel, sat on command and stayed for my to leave without any fuss or faff.

Tyler has been the perfect house guest so far. I did put him in a crate in the lounge to sleep but I could hear him moving about so I let him out and he just jumped up on the sofa and curled up ........ and there he stayed until 5 am this morning when I woke him!

frosty walk ..

...and on return he was straight back on the sofa ... not even pausing to take off his coat (well Arnolds coat -  hence a tad too big!)!!  :D )

Arnold's response to Tyler's presence is a reflection of how accomplished Tyler is , never before has Arnold welcomed any of the 'boys'!!

we love our beds!

innocence ....

Tyler is such a dear little character, you can tell he has been a treasured boy.

Lucky Tyler!!  ( but even luckier Joanne!! He is just a perfect house guest :D )

he is so lovely , when you go out and come back he brings you a toy and rolls on his back ...

he loves toys , he will line them up in his bed ....so funny when you have been used to staffies who just wreck everything in two minutes!!  Laugh

........ well I am going to have some extra special Tyler cuddles whilst I have the opportunity!

Tyler is such a sweetie and I will look forward to watching his thread as he enjoys his foster time with Joanne. Whichever dogs come home for a visit, the kids (who are actually grown men †of 22,20 & 16 lol) plead to keep them!!
I always say its just for a few nights (but im not sure they believe me since Jessie stayed 16 months †Laugh )

Tyler was an absolute joy to have around and whoever is lucky enough to sign his adoption papers will have one special little boy.

just a tiny bit perfect!!

Tyler came to me on Wednesday afternoon and what a lovely boy he is.  My home is probably very different from what he was used to so he sometimes gets worried when my dogs are bouncing around or barking with excitement but overall is doing well.  He is extremely affectionate and can't seem to get enough fuss or cuddles.  He completely ignores my house rabbit and so may be cat friendly?  Although I do not have cats myself I could potentially cat test him if a potential home had cats.

Tyler had 2 teeth removed on Wednesday but whilst he was under they discovered that he had a small lump on his epiglottis (the flap of tissue in the throat which closes when you swallow) and so was biopsied to be on the safe side.  The vet informed me yesterday that it is nothing sinister, just a little degeneration of the tissue and we hope will not cause him any problems in the future.  He doesn't have any problems swallowing or breathing and would never have known should it not been for him having a dental so we are leaving well alone.

Tyler walks beautifully on the lead and is completely house trained.
