Homed Homing requirements: Betsy needs a family around her to offer her patience and training whilst she settles into a new environment and expectations. Secure garden would be a joy.
Her Story: Betsy found stray in good condition without a chip and unclaimed. Special plea came to us choosen amongst many to lose their lives and we agreed to acknowledge the appeal and squeeze her in. We have spayed, chipped and vac'd Betsy. She is currently in emergency boarding kennels near Gatwick.
Advert: Betsy has impressed everyone who has met her, including the pound staff who put a special plea out to save her life. She has a calmness and a tender nature. She delights in smells and curitousities on her walk but is ever conscious of her companions. She meets dogs and people with respect and manners. Travels well in a crate and is not excessively lively for a youthful dog.
Betsy is a beautiful chocolate colour with flecks of gold. She is around 3 years old judging by her demeanour. She came to us in good condition slightly over weight; despite this was found to be unspayed; deed now done and receptive to a 'pet' life with joy and adventure and a 'special kinda loving' at its heart.
Please visit Betsy's thread on our forum to find out if still available and for fuller details. For daily updates Click our forum link and you will find the full range of dogs available for homing

We came forwards for Betsy and agreed to collect her today. John picked her up took her into our vets for spay and then kindly came back to collect her that afternoon and deliver her into Gatwick (S) _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Betsy is a sweetiepie. Welcomes you into her kennel, easy to harness and walks beautifully on the lead. Happy and relaxed alongside Ice and just an easy companion. We walked around the village and she took everything in her stride. If you stop and bend down to talk to her she comes over to give enthusiastic hugs and licks.

This picture shows me and Betsy and shows how tiny, tiny she is. Such a sugarplum of a dog, with a bit of a round tummy, but with so much love and kisses to give. She would like her home soon please

Wow, what a sweet, sweet, sweet little girl. How anyone could set eyes on this little lady and not fall in love with her I don't know. We had a lot of snuggles and kisses in the kennel while harnessing and then she walked nicely throuth the run and was a little love to walk. She didn't stop wagging her tail all the way. She really is a cute little Staffie girl and it can be difficult to see just how little she is as she takes a big photo. We only had time for a short walk which was substituted with cuddle and huggle time. We sat on the stile and Betsy sat on my lap, we had a typical Staffie snuffley chat and then she settled to be fussed and stroked while watching the birds and the view across the field, she then got off my lap, had a good sniff around the grass and popped up again for the other side of her head to be scratched and stroked. This little one also gave me a good ear washing too! I really hope this tiny tot finds a warm home and sofa very soon, she seems a happy little one out of the kennel and I can picture her having lots of cuddles and naps on someones lap. Fingers crossed little one

Wow, what a beautifull little girl I really dont know how she ended up with her life on the line she has so much to offer. She is very responsive on the walk, wagging her tail - my hand mistakenly got in the way of the wagging and it felt as though I had been hit across the knuckles with a cane!!! I also did my usual and fell flat out in the mud and Betsy stood there whilst I used her back to get up and I dont know who was more muddy, me or her!!! She is an affectionate, loyal, cuddly girl who will grace any home with love and affection - cant say enough good things about her and this was only my first meeting!!!
Betsy came out for a drive and a sunshine filled walk amongst woods and meadows yesterday. She embraced her walk with glee and enjoyed the extender lead to poke her nose into this and that. She wasn't keen on venturing into the river..I lifted her in and we made her way out with her tail glued to her bum..'oh dear not a pleasurable experience she has associations with as yet. A joy to be with and such a well mannered little girl.
Betsy had her initiation ceremony with new collar, disc, wormers and stitches removed. Just final vax now and chipping which will happen very soon.

Met a lovely lady today who lives near the kennels...looking to give a home to a dog....15 mins later I'm introducing her and her husband to Betsy and one other. Betsy won hearts and there was no way she was going to be allowed back in kennels so foster papers were signed and they walked her along for her 2nd booster I had booked earlier just 30 mins later. They are very keen to adopt but as they own Dizzy a tabby cat, who was viewing us from their neighbour's tree, we thought wise to see how things go. So Betsy is now fostered and settling. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

Betsy had a trip to the vet for her vac with her fosters, then a bath followed by evening meal. Not too attentive to food. She is a lap dog, which is appreciated with her fosterers, but not the lightest of dogs. She slept in their bedroom beside their bed, after 3-4x of being told to get off the bed..she went quiet and was blotto beside. She had discovered Dizzy under the bed which was a 'curious...opps retreat don't go there' reaction. Dizzy stayed there all night then left by walking along the bed head and out the door and our lady didn't even notice.
Lindsey is now exploring Betsy with her work which is a catalogue selling business with dropping off catalogues and delivering goods door to door. She soon discovered she was not going to be able to leave Betsy attached to her trolley; as the trolley just simply moved with Betsy. The difference of old dog verses young Staffie, determined to be close. So Betsy is now on a lead and delivering to the doors and very happy. Then 2 hours left in the house alone not a sign of anything moved just a very waggy backside on return. Ate well today. No housetraining issues.
Lindsey and Matthew very happy; Son due home weekend _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Wonderful 2nd report from Lindsey today starting with her relationship with Dizzy! They are eating from their bowls in the same room. Dizzy's bowl is now up on high though for reasons more to do with content security than security of owner. Dizzy is becoming bold and Betsy has licked him. She also sniffed his backside and got a swipe on her nose for the indignity of it!
Betsy needs to learn manners; As Lindsey and she go about their door to door business unsuspecting door openers currently feel a dog sweep past them (almost) Door open taken as a Come on in! invite and she will march through into their hall, kitchen where ever given the chance. Lindsey is now teaching her it sit and stay..patience prevails. One labrador owner invited them in and Betsy has a romp play with her 2 black labs..the owner was amazed to see her 10 year old lab playing with Betsy..first time for years.
Betsy is now FIRMLY reserved. Planning to meet after weekend unless she puts her pretty paws in the wrong direction but even then Lindsey is very forgiving..apparently she has no table manners and can't really understand why there isn't a place made up for her at the table during mealtimes! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
