Homed

Homing Requirements: Bobbie needs a family who has time for him and sensitive to his initial shyness. Bobbie would be best retained on an extender whilst regaining his confidence. He would love his own secure garden.

His Story: Bobbie was taken in by his family with 2 teenage sons at the age of 6 months as a rescue dog. He always lived in a flat without garden use. Bobbie got short walks offered for relief and led a sedentary life being left whilst family are at work.

Advert: Bobbie is a Dazzler! He is sweet sweet by nature, sensitive and needs a family to offer him a fun life now and open his horizons. Understands: Sit, Stay, "Please" and he begs. Bobbie wasn't allowed on furniture or beds except on invite. He is shy with new people but soon great friends especially people get down to his level.

Bobbie is a Jack Russell with solid Westie frame and yes a tad overweight. He led a solitary life and developed the habit of nibbling at his paws and tail out of boredom whilst family were at work. Bobbie needs the agenda  focused on his needs. Bobbie needs to regain confidence back, have a garden to enjoy and company there for him.

Interested in re-homing?  Please click to complete our on-line homing questionnaire to match a suitable dog with your lifestyle.

Please visit Bobbie's thread on our forum to find out if still available and for fuller details. For daily updates Click our forum link and you will find the full range of dogs available for homing

Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***

Please see Bobbie's thread below: Watch his progress through our Rescue
Referral Details: Family unable to give him the care he needs. Bobby spends most of the day, every day on his own. Family live in a flat with no garden so exercise is limited, causing health issues (overweight). Family feel he deserves much more, they just don't have the time for him, all members of the household work in shifts.

Bobbie is being neutered and vax'd by us next week.

Bobbie came out for a walk with me today and showed what a catch he's going to be, especially if you can't resist - a WESTIE !!!! (well, part Westie).

His build is more Westie than Jack - I would say - and his coat is more Westie too. At the moment he is rather shy ...

... but adorable

He trotted along without pulling, just sniffing along the quiet footpaths, and walked behind me on the uphill bits . Had to give him a gentle run over with the comb - well, I would, wouldn't I? - and the one to one attention prompted a little sparkle in those big brown eyes and a little wag from his tiny tail.

What a sweetheart ...

Bobbie's guardian angel Kelly, who knows his whole story, says he is  Westie X Jack.

Bobbie came to visit Brandy my old Lakie and me today with Peter. They met nose to nose straight off as curiousity led them that way and were very happy companions for over an hour. Here are some pictures and videos of Bobbie's day by the Thames with Peter.

Bobbie was so much more outgoing today. Walking with Brandy was a real plus. Bobbie seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, even if he isn't always sure what to do next.

The pictures of me looking totally demented as I hold Bobbie were taken seconds after he tried to lick my ears off, Rolling Eyes He is such a sweetheart...

Bobbie has got into the habit of chewing his paws when he's on his own.  So let's hope a new home - or foster - comes along soon and he get's  more involved in other things ... he really is a sweet, easy dog.

Run, Bobbie ... Run!  First time out with Bobbie on an extender ...

It was a day for quite a few "firsts" ... First time Bobbie's shown he recognises me when I collect him (face wash plus both ears). First time he's jumped into my car (though still not a really happy traveller yet). First time showing interest in the canada geese on the river bank. And ....

...yes, first time walk with dog ...  for  VIC !!!  :D  Normally he's dog averse - Vic, not Bobbie (he's fine) - and now we have parallel walking. Some of you will know how much that means  Rolling Eyes

Also, first time I've been told that Bobbie is excited and noisy in kennels. He usually has one "wuff" per walk.  Today it was when he met a pair of Westies and the pushy one tried to be dominant with Bobbie. Our lad showed no agression but kept his cool and stood his ground.  Moment passed. So did meetings with other dogs including an enormous Leonberger, the only one who wanted to play. The huge bounce and play bow - and low rumble - had both of us so surprised I didn't get the camera out ...

No concern about the offlead GSD ...

And a final shot of "my pack" ... two senior terriers ...
