Homed Homing Requirements: Lilly needs a family who are appreciative of her raconteur with dogs, in her boldness and cheeky character. She has lived the freer life in rural Spain mixing with off lead dogs and having a less 'tamed/ trimmed' lifestyle than ‘Rule Britannica’. She can herd; nudging and nipping ankles with no malice or harm given.
Her Story: Lilly was taken in as a 3 week old pup in Spain; one of a large litter due to be 'drowned' the next morn. She joined a Chocolate Labrador and managed the Spanish hot days and the cool nights. She lived the village life off lead often loose to roam with other dogs. Her owners came back to England and could not find accommodation to take a dog, so thought they may manage just to add her in, but neighbours, sweet neighbours, within 2 weeks have reported them and she needed to leave. Now in emergency boarding kennels. Spayed, 1st vax'd and chipped.
Advert: Little Lilly is bilingual and speaks fluent English and Spanish. She has just arrived into English “restrained and contained” culture of dog ownership and is feeling her way. She is getting used to wearing a collar and being on a lead. Dogs seem a little too human but she is getting by and settling. Lilly has always lived with other dogs. She is housetrained and has good recall and when she isn't meeting and greeting she is announcing her presence to new dogs in the field.
Lilly is so tiny and pretty with Red brown thick collie coat. She has long locks, like Goldie locks and sparkling Spanish Eyes. Are they are smiling “Oh yes!” “Ol Lillyah!”. She can dance and is a natural entertainer. She is highly adaptable so don't under-estimate her. Lilly is a charismatic, powerful tiny lady, who will cast her new owners under her spell in a trice; in fact at a click of her paws!

I always get a shock when I go to the kennels and today Lilly knocked me off my feet! I was thinking she was about the size of a smallish Collie and how wrong was I!!! She is mini and not any bigger than my teeny weeny Westie.
I'm ashamed to say I spent a good part of the walk trying to work out what I could do to convince my husband to foster her. The arguments that ran through my head even stretched to "Well hon, we speak a little Spanish and she is a Spanish dog so we are best placed to foster her"! He doesn't need to know that she is bi-lingual and was responding happily to everyone's billing and cooing! But love is blind and she was talking my language baby! Sadly my hubby rightly keeps me grounded so I had to leave her behind at the kennels.
Lilly has the cutest little face and beautiful colours running through a magnificent mane of a coat. She was very calm and happy and a pleasure on her walk. I think Nina was smitten too!
Someone is going to be very lucky to wake up to her smile in the mornings and when they home her I will be very happy and just an itsy bitsy eeny weeny little bit green.
This little lady won't be around for long so don't think about her too long and get that homing questionnaire in rapido!
Lilly stole my heart yesterday and I nearly stole her
She was a very worried little girl in her kennel when I went in to sort out her bedding. But just wanted someone to tell her she was safe. So we joined the group walk and she blossomed into a lively, cheeky and very loving little (and I mean little) dog. I have a collie cross and she is probably one quarter of her size, but with just as much love to give. She will settle so quickly with someone who shows her the love she craves. We could have cuddled all day, but I was sat on the grass and I was getting cold and muddy
Walked Lily today, she was a real treat to take out. She did cry when I took her back but she seemed a little better once she had had a small sausage and a big cuddle
Emma has taken Lilly home today into foster with her 2 dogs _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

hi all Emma here, just to let you all know Lilly's settled in well, loves my Great Dane and my staffy. She sleeps on my bed at night down the bottom, she seems comfortable. Eats well and acts happy. Took her to meet my mum and dad, sister and their dogs, all went well, they are terriers so all around about the same size.played loads. She didn't even blink twice when she saw my sister's cat - didn't even chase it.xx Travels excellent in a car, just curls up and goes to sleep.xx I am positive she will get a home quick. I will miss her when she goes but a perfect family home will be waiting for her and that is what she needs.xx Chat soon all.will keep you updated with Lilly's day to day stories. At the moment she's asleep on her cushion bed, most of the time she's asleep but when she awake she's awake.lol.
It's a shame the weather was so miserable today for taking photos on our introductory walk.
We've all now dried out in front of the fire, Lilly seems to be settling down with a leather chew on a comfy cushion in the conservatory. I hope the donation has transferred across ok. We'll keep you updated with Lilly's progress. Many thanks for all your help & support.
Warmest Wishes

Lilly seems to be settling in nicely. We all went for a nice walk this morning and we risked letting her off the lead in the bluebell woods near to us so that she and Douglas could play chase in all the dried leaves. The woods are at least a mile from the nearest road and we've found that Lilly is very good at coming when she is called, especially when it means a little sliver of dried sausage.
Lilly and Douglas are still discussing pecking order on occasions but I'm sure that will soon be resolved once Douglas gives in.
Warmest wishes, Susan and Tony
