Homing Requirements: Nells needs another dog ideally a male dog. She needs a family who will have her at the centre of their world, are active in social walks and at the most work part-time. Nells has sensitive skin, but no skin condition.

Her Story: Nells was found stray with another similar looking male dog. He was homed from the pound and she was left very stressed and alone in her kennel. Transferred into our Rescues care. Since she was fostered just before Xmas she has shone out and delighted everyone. She is now spayed and vax'd.

Advert: Nells is unique. In her looks; just stunning, a half pint sized Staffie with appealing eyes which melt you to the core. She is intelligent, listens and trains very quickly. She is also exemplary in that she adores other dogs and definitely needs to live with another. We had fear over separation anxiety judging her on how she was in kennels, but given the company of another compatible dog she is content and happily sleeps downstairs and can be left for short periods.

"Nells is such a quick learner, she tries so hard to please and wants nothing more than to be loved, cuddled and played with." She isn't destructive, she is housetrained and delightful to walk. Fun, fun, fun and just a little bit funny in the nicest possible way. She will have you laughing. When you're feeling tense or just a little low ... she will be snuggled up and looking into your eyes and saying ... "you know its the best thing your ever did to offer me my home"!

Please visit Nell's thread Nells Staffie DOB ?01.10 Basingstoke Hants Fosterto find out more about her and follow her progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete Our on-line Homing Questionnaire  so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

See Nells thread below: Watch her progress through our Rescue

Referral Details: Hi Dee Nells was found stray with another dog. I can't thank you enough for agreeing to help us with Nells. It's heartbreaking to see her so stressed in the kennels, especially since her little mate went. I look forward to hearing from you regarding when you can take her and we will arrange transport if necessary.

Regards to you and John.   Celia ( Dog Warden)

Nells arrived today. She has been spayed and vax'd and will welcome all guests as her social diary is a little empty at the moment.

Little Nell is gorgeous  love10
I was warned to be careful or she'd wriggle out of kennel and it’s not easy getting in she didn’t have a collar on (looks like ones been rubbing her, her skin is very very pink at the moment). I had awful trouble with my harness, I got it on she moved and it was off, I made it smaller and we were off and so was the harness so I carried her through the kennel run and grabbed what I hoped would be a smaller one. We got sorted in between the gates where I managed to make my harness small enough to stay on. By now all Nell wanted to do was run away, away from the nasty kennels the nasty smelly harness and the nasty woman who kept fiddling with it. She’s too small to pull but was intent on her escape until I blew my nose, then she turned gave a look that said ‘oh are you still here’ and we had a big cuddle. She slipped through the stile but then spooked so another cuddle was in order, the next stile she handled  it like a pro :D She does like her cuddles and tummy rubs

Cars worried her as they passed but she’s a brave wee sole who spooks then gets on with it. The water buckets were treated with suspicion

but further inspection had her drinking out of them bravely. As we were about to pass a neighbour of the kennels the lady of the house asked to talk to her, Nell was up for that and somehow I found myself sitting on the drive and us having our photo taken (I don’t normally sit in strangers driveways honest!!).

I carried her through the kennel run, with dogs both sides (the labs were in the run) I thought it too much for her, back on the floor, at the kitchen door she’d have liked to say hi to a cat but cat decided to walk off, Nell didn’t  worry and in we went for extra cuddles before I had to harden my heart and shut the door. Oh how I wish I could have just bought her home  love10 . This little lady will be loved by all I am sure.

My first walk with little Nells today. Lots of learning for me on how to get into her kennel without her escaping whilst there was no collar to help.
I confess I did take the cowards way and asked Alison to wait as second line of defence whilst I got in (and out!). Hopefully if she moves into one of the doors that open inwards life will get easier  Laughing
Her neck is still looking a little red so collar taken off when leaving.

Anyway very very cute girl and was very excited to be out with Shyloh. Luckily for her Shyloh has a very calm energy and wasn't fazed by her excitement and desire to play with him when we reached the horse field.

Couple of photos for you all to enjoy - I think we'd better make the most of them, she's such a cutie I don't think she'll be with us for long with any luck  hello1

Is it just me or do I look like a weirdo in those photos?
I know Nells is only tiny but she really can pull...I don't naturally tilt to the right as far as I am aware Laughing

She is a cutie though and at any opportunity will lay down for a tummy tickle. I stopped to swap her leads on the narrow path..she laid down then rolled over for me to tickle her tummy. What she hadn't realised was that she was on the slope of the ditch and promptly rolled down into it.
I know I shouldn't have laughed but I really couldn't help it.

Bless her, gorgeous little pup. She's really settling into kennel life now (as far as anyone can). Much easier to get into her kennel now and she understands that when the leads are off she needs to stay inside the kennel while you leave. It is hard to leave her though, she's definitely mastered the 'I'm so cute why would you leave me here?' look.
I think she learnt it from Ringo, he's the master  Smile

Walked lovely little Nells this morning. She was sweet and calmish when put the harness on but all the black labs were in the paddock when I was trying to get her out, so bless her she found that rather intimidating !! Anyway we walked with Smiler who smiled at her   Laughing  this little girl needs someone to let her sit on their knee and tickle her tummy, she would love that - she did look sad when I left her  Crying or Very sad

At work, but had to jump on here as I have had Nells on my mind since I walked her yesterday.

I think she would love someone to perhaps not walk her for 30 mins or so, but to sit and talk to her and perhaps play with some toys whilst in the fields and bring out the puppy in her. When we walked she was pulling quite a lot and then would stop with all paws out in all directions and look up as if to say gosh hard keeping up with this !!!  She seemed restless and on thinking about it I think she could be a little weary and tired being in kennels and not relaxing. She is such a sweetie and seems so young and thats why she is really playing on my mind - would be such a fabulous little dog and stands out in the crowd !!!

Coming to play with you later in the week sweetie pie (but hope someone snaps you up before I get there) -    will bring a squeeky toy and perhaps some yummy sausages xxxx Rolling Eyes

This little girl should carry a 'too cute for my boots' warning. Where on earth did those gigantic 'love me ' eyes come from?? !!

I walked Nells on Friday and she is so much calmer now and walks better on the lead.  She was much more relaxed around other dogs and even coped nicely when Barney fell into her  Laughing  She is a very pretty girl and has such soft white fur. She was keen on cuddles before I left the kennel and sat on my lap so we could have a cheek to cheek cuddle. Only problem was she didn't want me to leave and tried everything she could to get me to stay. Most are quite satisfied after a good walk but it's so sad when they won't let you leave.  Her neck though is looking much better so probably best she has a collar fitted again soon. She made no efforts to escape her harness which I think is a sign of her growing acceptance of how we do things. Generally she is improving al the time. In the right  home setting she will progress  so well as she seems a bright little thing  :D

Nells was first on my list and she gave me a warm welcome. I think she may have been talking or watching one or two of the others as she started out jumping up and biting at the lead, however she soon settled. She knows she shouldn't jump up as she'll suddenly sit as if thinking 'oh no this is what I'm meant to do'.

We walked to my place for a little run in the garden, she was surprisingly calm about the whole idea, I thought she'd take the chance to have a good run around but no a good sniff about, a few cuddle check ins with me and she was more than ready to get back to walking. She didn't quite understand that not everyone we passed wanted to talk to her but one person did so that pleased her :D
