Homing Requirements: Scally needs terrier experienced home with confidence behind him on an extender lead as he learns to greet and meet dogs, reading and adjusting to social cues. Scally needs an adult home where his affection can be given on his terms ..not a dog to be smothered. Could poss. live with another dog but will make a fine only dog living in a low dog density area so dogs aren't in his face all the time. Not good in kennelling situation.

His Story: Scally was found stray in Wales.Scally is now neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert:  Delightful terrier who is a bit of a rough diamond so a natural entertainer. He is 'his own man' and generally nicely mannered.  Not naturally a 'lap dog', but certainly laps up attention as he builds trust.  Scally is good looking, young and ready to take on life. In his prime, but still picking up his skills, so learning manners and decorum. Scally really is up for adventure and struts bravely into situations charming all. Most dogs are friends on first meeting, but he has had the odd moment as terriers do but this is Scally in a new setting and grappling for his sense of stability whilst 'at sea'. He'll soon polish those facets..and rub along with most; sparkling like true diamonds do. Welsh dogs are rarely formally walked so we think he just needs exposure and etiquette.

Scally is fostered with another terrier. He has been delightful and is a soft, tender and affectionate terrier. Developing trust and bonding well he certainly turns the heads and laps up the strokes and soaks up the laps on his terms! Yes he does his little grumbles. So Scally the entertainer, has an energy which is both containable and entertaining. Destined to be loved to bits by owners who accept the rough with the smooth ... fast becoming a smoothie!

Please visit Scally's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in foster on our Forum to find out more about him and follow his progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Scally's thread is below: He came to us via a Welsh pound

Enter Scally!

Scally and Golieth

Scally is a titch of a terrier probably about 13/14"to the shoulderbut 110% terrier. Very skinny under his luxurious black curls. Wasn't too happy to be picked up but did accept it and waryness faded as we spent time together in the paddock and I was forgiven as we started our walk. Dreamboat terrier head turner but needs someone who will 'understand' him.

Scally had a great walk yester with Parkin and Cole fellow Patties. He was the smallest; he was the boldest; he was the youngest; he was the chirpiest. He reacted very well in a group walk, freely mixing and had us all laughing. He was a little too well aware which one was the bitch in the pack..he will settle -this newly neutered lad.

So delighted with Scally; lovely, keen, kind and bold energy Laughing

Scally is found in his bed resting his slightly sore paws. He did his grumble as I picked him up to carry him thru the kennel block. Paws on ground and his looks like a slight black westie..and he is off on his long awaited walk. He is beginning to put on weight. Very busy smelling here, marking there, here he is out in his world of smells and curiousities.

Scally is looking a little worse for wear with a balding nose and hairlose on one ear post injury. But his spirit is bright and he is truly a beautiful terrier..very small but self accomplished.

True terrier style knocking at the kennel door to go back in

Scally was so much calmer than I had expected, he has such a cheeky glint in his eye but settled down to enjoy his walk, snuffling about - obviously he would have been faster than that whippet had he been off lead but didn't need to prove himself to anyone...

When Scally wasn't engaged with 'his' whippet he was walking so very nicely with his new friend Stanley.

Oh yes and then there was the dreaded stitches to come out and advocate application..thank you Charlie for distracting me away from xxlynne's vengence!

Lovely walk with Scally this afternoon. His energy was a little flat and I had to coax him along. Met 4 dogs in a pack really well; had lovely smells and sniffs and pottered back to the kennels. Always bright to be going back.

We have had the pleasure of Scally's company for nearly 24 hours now & he has been fab!  He has such a naughty & cheeky air about him I wasn't sure if we were in for a chaotic weekend....

I'm so good in the house & happily sleep in my crate

Had great fun on Wimbledon Common

Ted introduced me to a few locals

Here come the boys....

Poor Ted - his eyebrows have gone grey with the stress of it all - Scally is such a livewire - funny, clever & charming - he has had us laughing all day!

Scally has continued to delight us - he has been fabulous at home & out walking.  We have left him for a couple of hours in his crate & he has slept with the run of downstairs for 2 nights with no fuss or accidents (upstairs is Ted's domain).  He helped with the gardening & enjoyed a visit to the pub.  Still very puppyish & BIG fun in a little body!

Scally is back on the sofa next to me...love this boy...maybe not for the novice terrier owner but so clever & funny + loves cuddles & fuss - still a puppy & quick to learn, he puts up with Ted being a grumpy old man but would probably prefer either a sociable friend or to be the centre of your universe!

Another great weekend with Scally - he is such fun - someone is going to be so lucky to share their life with this gem.

How can you resist?

Relaxing in the garden...

Relaxing in the car!

This weekend Scally put on his apron & 'helped' in the flower shop

He settled really well & charmed everyone

How much is that Scally in the window?
