Tink has been raised with children and a companion spaniel dog. She lost her trust with dogs when she went into a front garden and was attacked by 2 resident guard dogs at the age of 1yr. She has gradually regained her confidence with dogs outside and has her 'walking friends'. Most dogs she meets nicely however can occassionally be defensive with dogs she doesn't know and so wears a muzzle 'just in case'. Sadly Tink's relationship with the resident dog deteriated 6 months ago. The spaniel has got nervous of her with a further incident on Saturday requiring vet. treatment to the spaniels ear..Tink was booked in to be put to sleep this morning. Luckily the family found our website and we have agreed to help her and find her a home as an only dog and a responsible terrier family who are aware of her nervousness towards other dogs and continual reassurance to settle with them. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!
I got quite a surprise when I went to see Tink this morning. I expected her to be a bit down and confused but no - she seems to be treating this whole kennel business as an exciting adventure
She had eaten well and enjoyed an outing in the paddock. She was as good as gold as she had a coat fitting. All in all she has been a little star and is already a favorite with the kennel staff.
When Sam arrived she wasn't backwards in coming fowards and is very happy to let everybody know she has arrived
Lets just hope this attitude prevails until her home comes up - can't believe for one moment it will be very long
Tink is a little (tiny, in fact) beauty. She was very excited about going out and set off at breakneck speed for one so small, without so much as looking back. It was sleeting quite hard so we didn't go very far and I didn't get chance to take any photos - but I'll have a go tomorrow.
I think she would benefit from some training - she wouldn't sit for treats or come back to me when I called her - she was just so busy looking around that I wasn't very interesting
Tink is still finding everything just so exciting. She has a really positive attitude. Yesterday she shot out of her kennel, already well aware of the routine and the way out for walks. She was so excited but as I was fiddling trying to get the new tag ready she gave up jumping at the door and tried a sit and then a paw - this little lady is very clever
Out on our walk she was straight into every muddy puddle we could find and today straight into the biggest snow drift there was. She is not in the least bit intimadated by anything larger than her - yesterday Cassie looked to Janet for reassurance when we passed each other in the woods
Tink was very happy to see us this morning. She just about jumped into my arms for a cuddle - very sweet.
Mum walked Tink today and said she was very easy to walk on the extender lead. She saw a squirrel and Mum said she got up on her back legs and bounced to the tree to investigate. Her balance must be fantastic.
This little girl is as cute as a button - I promise to take some photos next time we go out.
Tink is very very small and very very sweet, we put her muzzle on just in case and she kept rolling in the snow trying to get it off, she walks very fast but nicely. She's a very pretty girl and seems great with people, tink wasn't really interested in treats but senned to enjoy being made a fuss of. What a nice walk
Tink was a little darling today. She rolled and rolled and rolled in the snow, shook herself off and rolled again
I think she seems to be getting used to us a bit - she came straight back to me when I called her today and did a beautiful sit in the snow - I did feel bad for asking her to do it though
I baked some liver cake and I was delighted that she liked it as before today she hasn't been very interested in treats.
Tink is so cute and so bubbly - it surely can't be very long before her new family finds her.

Well we got home with Tink, four days in and she seems to be ruling the house, every moment of the day we seem to find our selfs watching her every move, she loves the dog flap in and out all day, we put up a sensor light for her so it goes on every time her head pops out the flap. I think she thinks it's a game and her body is in the kitchen and her head out side We,ve owned dogs all our lives, Tink should have been a Meer Cat she spends most of her time walking on her back legs. This is a first for us what a nutter:lol: When I figure out how to attach photos I'll get them put on. She is off to the groomer tomorow so we should get some good before and after photos. Bye for now Suzanne.
Thanks for the update and looking forward to photos. Here is the link with the instructions for doing so, but shout if you struggle. http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about1020.html _________________ SHARONR - ADMIN
