Homed

Griff a 3 year old Patti who lives with another dog and a cat…but as so often is the case his owner feels he would fair much better as a only dog/ pet. He has friends outside but can easily get into a scrap if challenged by a dog he doesn’t know.  He isn’t getting the exercise he used to as his owner isn’t well, so all in all despite a heart rendering search his owners feel, he would suit, a more active life style with someone who can continue the work they have been doing. Griff is Gruff a mix of contradictions.  Great with the dogs he knows and they are welcome to visit, great. You get a sense he will be shaped by his owners, given clear boundaries and not too much rope! Indoor a dear dear soul loving with all ages of people. He can be left for period. North Somerset.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Hi, I'm Griff and I'm looking for a new home because sadly my owners can't give me the sort of life I really need.  When I went to live with them, my Mum was fitter but has become less and less mobile in the three years since through Fibromyalgia and can't give me enough exercise and fun to keep me busy.  This means that I sometimes I take it out on my housemate Spider, who's older and a bit of a wuss.

I'm really good fun, I have pretty good manners and love to learn new tricks and things - I really enjoyed going to a few agility classes and took to it very easily.  I love sniffing out type games, ball fetching, going in the sea (but not very deep) hide chews, being hoovered and getting fussed for months at a time.  I love to play and I like older children but never do any kind of mouth/nippy-play.

I want a home on my own.  I need some loving people who know how to handle a really busy terrier and who will understand the different parts of my personality.  I'm quiet at home, but outside I protect my Mum against other dogs (never people), although I don't do this so much with my Dad.

I really would make someone very happy and would adapt quickly to new surroundings with encouragement.  My Mum will be heartbroken, but she knows that the most important thing is to do the best thing for me.

Griff

Hi - This morning I'm doing normal sort of stuff - while my Mum's pills start working and my housemate's still asleep I get some fuss and a game.  Today it's one of the treat balls with some of my dried food in it.  I think this is brilliant fun and I look very cute and really funny playing with it.  A quick jump through the catflap for a pee and I'm back for some more fuss and a bit of a nap while everyone gets up and about.

I sleep very well downstairs in my crate on my own and am quite happy to be put there during any short periods my family are out during the day.  I don't whine or bark in these circumstances and just settle down to sleep.

Right.  I must go and check what the birds are doing this morning...

More soon -

Griff

Here's a couple more photo's for you - it's difficult, because I rarely stay still enough to catch me!  One of them is of me and my mate Spider - I'm the one on the left.

Hi

At the weekends, my Dad takes me up to the common below Bristol airport with my housemate Spider.  We run each other silly fetching a ball which my Dad throws with one of those long plastic chucker things.  I get very focussed about this as it involves treats for success and competition with Spi.  We check out the rabbits, say hello to other dogs and generally have a good time.  We usually do this both days and spend the rest of the weekend chilling out at home, with our Saturday big chew/filled bone and enjoying the quiet (I don't chew furniture/shoes etc, but LOVE tissues).  Sometimes we have a bath, which I don't mind as long as I get to wander up and down the bath while I'm shampooed and rinsed under the shower head!

My Mum's back is pretty bad at the moment and so during the week she's been walking Spider and I alongside her recumbent bike (one at a time), which is more comfortable for her than being upright.  The bike has two wheels at the front and one at the back and is nice and stable, so that even if I get distracted by a cat or something, I can't end up squashed by pulling the bike and Mum on top of me!  I really love going for walks like this and half the time I pull the bike as much as Mum pushes it.  Needless to say, we make friends along the way being quite an unusual sight in the local area and often stop for the offer of a biscuit and of course a good drink of water.

I've attached a couple more photos for you and hope you all have a good weekend too.  If you've got any questions about me, do let me know.

Griff

ps - my photos really don't do me justice - I'm much cuter in real life with a seriously cute face...

With the help of RR and the endless patience and support of Dee, Griff has gone home with his lovely new family.  We are so grateful on both Griff's and our own behalf.  Thank you.

They made instant friends via the magic of fuss and Griff had adopted them within minutes.  By the time we all took him round the block to see what he's like on the lead, it was clear that this is a family who know all about terrier tricks and twists and could deal happily with Griff's foibles.

We're very sad to lose Griff and the house is far too quiet and still at the moment, but we'll get used to it and it's so good to know that Griff has found such a nice family where I know he'll have a great life.
