|
Dear All
As we are heading into Summer it's the perfect time to regroup and spread the word about Rescue Remedies. Ever thought you would like to help a rescue when you had a little spare time and never got round to it? Do you help us already, like what we do and want to help our dogs some more? Well with the summer looming and the kennels needing their kennel runs back for their holiday clients, now is the time that your help is really needed. Just a few quick & simple actions would help us save further lives and could bring in more potential homes for our dogs.
Choose just one of the following and make a difference - do them all and we would be so very grateful for your help and dedication to our cause! Any further suggestions are also welcomed ... here goes:
24 ways that could potentially save a dogs life ...
1. Vets/Dog Training Schools/Pet Shops - pop our Dogs available for Rehoming poster along to your vets, doggie training school or local pet shop and kindly ask them to display it in their waiting room/training school area/shop.
2. Do you every see professional dog walkers out and about? Could you ask them to pass on our details to their clients and give them our latest poster to pass on?
3. Do you (or do you know of anyone who does meets the public) clean windows, delivers newspapers/free papers or sell Avon and could you/they get permission to pop a Rescue Remedies Poster through the doors visited?
4. Do you or any of your friends or family run jewellery/cosmetics/clothes etc., evenings from their homes and, if so, could you distribute/handout out our poster/rehoming poster with every purchase or display them?
5. On a sunny day why not get the kids to help you put our posters through the doors of just one street in your area. Doing this once a month on a different street would help get our name out there.
6. Print 3 posters every month and set a target for yourself to place them on display somewhere! Your car, your vet and a notice board at work? Anywhere you think they may be noticed.
7. Thinking of clearing out your loft and doing a boot sale this summer? Whether you want to raise funds for yourself or us (always appreciated ) could you print out some posters and give one away with every sale? An A4 poster displayed on your table with some posters will attract attention and we could find homes for our dogs this way.
8. Are you going away and putting your dogs in kennels this Summer? If so, could you take a rehoming poster down to your kennels when you drop your dogs off and kindly ask them to display it in their office/dog collection area?
9. Does your work place/office have an online Ads page or a notice board where you could put up our poster on a monthly basis?
10. Could you put up a poster in your car/van/lorry/caravan window?
11. When are you next at the Hairdressers or nail/beauty salon or GP; Dentist? They always ask if you are doing something special or going somewhere nice. Could you ask them to do something nice for us and display one of our homing posters? Maybe even pop one in some of their magazine that they hand to clients to read while they wait!
12. Fetes/Fairs/Fun Days/Charity Events - if you are involved in one of these events or know someone who is? Whatever the theme, could you spare a little room on your table/stall for a little pile of our posters? We would also be grateful to hear of any events that we might be able to take part in - please send me details if you think they might be worthwhile.
13. Do you sell on ebay? Could you pop one of our posters in the packaging of anything you post out?
14. Will you be staying at a dog friendly holiday home or campsite this Summer? Could you take a few posters with you and ask the place to display them during the summer season? Get me their e-mail address too and I will e-mail them regularly with the updates.
15. Chat forums, websites, blogs - could you put an ad up for Rescue Remedies? Just let me know if you need some text.
16. Facebook - have you joined the Rescue Remedies Facebook Group? If not, could you do so and contact all your friends and ask them to join our group? The link is http://apps.facebook.com/causes/269024/45888630?m=6d54c0aa.
17. I am going to put together a mailing list for any organisation that is interested in receiving our rehoming poster on a regular monthly basis. Please let me know if there is anyone you would like added. I just need the contact name/organisation name, e-mail address and location.
18. Waitrose will award funding nearly 7,000 charities and local good causes. The funding is being made through a new initiative called Community Matters. Through this scheme, Waitrose will allocate £1,000 a month to each of its 190 branches to distribute amongst three local community projects as chosen by its customers and employees. You fill out a community matters leaflet nominating us with details of why you want money, and they have some local groups/charities nominated each month. Shoppers get a token and when they go through the checkout they vote for the group they are most interested in with their token. Each month, £1,000.00 from Waitrose is then split between the 3 groups with the most votes. SO GET TO YOUR LOCAL WAITROSE NOW AND FILL OUT A FORM FOR RESCUE REMEDIES!!! If you want the text that you can use on your form or have any questions please e-mail Sam on samantha.beavi@gmail.com for details. Don't forget to let her know which store you have posted in so she can keep track.
19. Do you use a Dog Groomer? If so, can you give them a poster to display and ask them to spread to word?
20. Could you send us any unused postage stamps which we could use for mailing our new newsletters or adoption papers out? Every little helps!
21. If you are close to Richmond, Kingston, Farnham, Gatwick, Croydon, East London, Canary Wharf or Upminster and have any unwanted dog food, collars, leads, harnesses or accessories, toys, treats etc., we would love to hear from you. We can put them to good use down at the kennels, use them for our foster dogs and even use them to raise much needed funding. Please send me a p.m. if you are able to donate and can get to one of these areas.
22. Recycle your books and audio videos and raise money for RR at the same time! You can raise £3 for each one by selling them on Green Metropolis - http://www.greenmetropolis.com/ - who will also donate 5p from every sale to The Woodland Trust so you will also be saving trees.
23. Loose change - could you collect your loose change from your pockets/purses in a pot at the end of every day - any change at all, but I suggest 1p, 2p, 5p & 10p's. Every little bit helps folks and would that amount of loose change really be missed by you? Rescue Remedies could definitely put it to good Doggie use!
24. Easyfundraising is a shopping directory that features some of your favourite online stores, including Amazon, NEXT, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys’R’Us, HMV and over 500 others. All you have to do is use the links on the easyfundraising site whenever you shop online and, at no extra cost to you, we'll receive a free donation of up to 15% from every purchase you make. It really is that simple!
It’s completely FREE to register and use and you still shop with each retailer in exactly the same way. Many retailers even offer additional discounts and money saving e-Vouchers when you shop using easyfundraising.
If you shop online anyway then why not raise valuable extra funds for us by using this fantastic scheme. All you need to do is visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ and when you register, select Rescue Remedies - Dog Rescue (London and Home Counties) as the organisation you wish to support.
Our latest rehoming posters are regularly updated and can be found on this link: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about831.html
Well folks, please, please, please don't read this and then let it slip from your mind. Some of the above would take just a few minutes to do and it really could make a big difference to a dog.
Thank you for listening and ACTING!

Yes, Tina that's a good one too!
In fact any one little thing that someone does to get our name our there could pay off and get a dog a home, some funding or voluntary help.
Collectively if everyone pulled together we really could make an impressive difference ... magic does happen, we just need more weavers
