Homed

Homing Requirements: Treacle is sensitive in all ways. Needs loving and supportive owners in a child free environment to continue to build her core confidence. Treacle needs a therapeutic home with no pressure to allow her to overcome her instinctual nerves. She has to be ignored and given space and for her to approach, and even then slowly slowly acknowledged and engaged with: Once she trusts she trusts.  Treacle has dust mite and storegrain mite allergy so no dried biscuits, needs moist ideally fresh cooked food often leather or plastic collar. Her ears also suffer from ear mites so need regular review. Treacle is muzzled outside, has excellent recall and happy and freely learning to engage and trust new situations This is a new experience for her as she was kept away from people and dogs in her past. She doesn't have chase drive just terrier curiousity. Treacle enjoys being an only pet but could be with a dominant other dog.

Video: Treacle fun run

Video: Mixing so well

Video: Fun swim - Water Baby!

Her Story: Treacle was rescued young post-pups, together with the Lurcher pup 3 years ago who worked long hours but cared. The 2 dogs lived harmoniously, just a few set-toos. Treacle was kept away from new people and visitors. Owners had a baby and wouldn't trust her so surrendered her to Terrier Rescue. Neutered, vax'd and chipped. In boarding kenns near Gatwick

Advert: Treacle is concentrated sweetness. Treacle has intrinsic fears, 'ghosts of the past' which she was shielded from in her previous home. In foster Treacle has been sensitised to new situations and building trusting relationships with new people and dogs and it is working! She always muzzled outside.  Treacle is very affectionate and builds close relationship once she trusts with more than one person so could live with a beloved couple. She is excellent off lead which allows her to mix with dogs and develop skills; she loves to run and is great fun. Treacle needs a quiet home with familiar visitors she can get to know her over time.

Treacle is a black smooth coated hound x terrier with a docked tail! Oh how she loves to pick up a scent.  Just 16- 17" to the shoulder, bright and alert on her walks. Treacle is a very loving pet; she will thrive on her owner’s affection, belief in her and their care.

Treacle came officially on our books today. She is managing to cope in kennels but so needs an understanding and loving home, child free environment.

Had a wonderful walk with Treacle today. We have met 2x before and I was welcomed as an old friend.

Whow let's see;

Oh the joy!

Treacle said hello to Rosy the Labrador with a play bow then they smelt one another in a friendly manner. Treacle was comfortable to follow Rosy and her owner

Spot the dog

Here's the clue

Ever vigilant

In fact with Treacle explore and water can just be an means to an end. This adventure was about spying a little bird. She crept up and stood silent and very still...a hound definitely in this terrier!

She loves the feel of grass on her back if you haven't already noticed

Treacle has grown in confidence and so delighted to get to walk her last Friday and today in the lovely sunshine (so welcome after all that rain !).

What can I say but 'the eyes have it' ... she's adorable !

Treacle you're a gorgeous girl ! I like to think she was looking right at me but I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with treats !  Treacle loves treats, and she loves cuddles - something for each of us there then !
She's quickly moving towards the top of my favouries list !! (but don't tell the others !)

Well Treacle is a sweetheart, she is very obedient and has excellent re call, she is totally clean in the house and hasn't made a peep at nightimes, she loves to play ball and will bring it to you and drop it at your feet.

She is however not very confident, especially around other dogs and doesn't know quite how "to be" with them.  So I (and my Moo Moo man) will be helping her with her confidence and that is why I am using a muzzle, she has only been with me a few days and she is happily running off lead with Monty.

Treacles, "back to school" time has started and today she learnt that not all dogs are going to attack you and a lot of them ignore you totally  Wink

Here she is with Rosie the Parsons, Lilly the lurcher and Norman the terrier mix, learning valuable lessons, Lilly is always muzzled as she has a super high prey drive and small fast dogs are on the menu  La La La

The gangs all here

Treacle is such a loving and loyal dog to what she see's as "her people" she loves her cuddles, playing ball and she is oh so obedient.

Treacle need support though when it comes to meeting strange people or dogs, her first reaction is defense but with the correct approach and awarness this can be managed.

She is the perfect House dog and loves nothing better than a snooze in her crate in between playing, feeding and walking, her crate is her own little sanctuary and she takes all her toys in there.

Some pics of the pretty one.

Time for a Treacle up date me thinks, with Treacle it is all about trust, she has been with me a few weeks now and has settled nicely, she loves her cuddles and kisses with me, loves playing with her ball.

Yes she has an edge to her but that's why I have always loved Terriers (Earth dogs and Bullbreed), they are fun, cheeky and intelligent and do not suffer fools..

She is quite happy with Monty now and she looks to him for the lead on how to be (maybe not a good idea), she loves swimming and Monty thinks this is great as he loves it too.

Some pics of her enjoying the sea, she actually dives right under, even with her muzzle on she was not fazed at all.

Treacles confidence around other dogs is coming along in leaps and bounds, today I took them to the river, where I knew there would be loads of dogs and people and she was an absolute star, infact, there was a couple with a pointer cross (kayleigh) who wanted to take her home with them.

Treacle and Kayleigh

With Monty (gimmie that ball) No!!

Showing of her freestyle

socialising big style (who's scared of dogs, not me)

I think they forgot who they came with

All in all a great day

These are 2 vid's of Treacle meeting doggies, first one is of a random JRT who joined us in the sea, it's a bit shakey as I was throwing stones for them.

Second is a little Yorkie that sneeked up on her, just a few seconds because my batteries died, I will get some better ones but for now it gives you an idea.

Just click on them

If you are looking at Treacle's thread and are worried that she has a muzzle on, well that is my decision because Treacle had never been allowed to meet other dogs on her own terms, always being put on a lead, so while she is with me I am letting her find her feet. all in all she meets other dogs nicely and is beginning to learn doggie manners.

Also the fact that she is very shy and needs to get to know people before she will trust them, well my own dog is like that so I dont really see it as a problem, some are cuddle monsters and will throw themselves at anyone and others are more reserved.

Remember she only came to me a few weeks ago, not knowing me or my dog and she has settled in famously, I get loads of kisses and cuddles.

Salient points.... Highly obedient, clean in house, non destructive, travels well in car and fun fun fun.

She just needs people with confidence, who can instill confidence in her!!!

More vid's very short, just to show you how she is out and about with dogs, people and bike riders etc, if I can do it anyone can , I am nobody special, just foster a few dog here and there.

TREACLE
