Her story: Tia was found wandering in a park supposedly, but when a rescue went to the home, the 'finders' were recognised as a local breeder of Mastiffs so concluded Tia had come to the end of her economic usefulness!
Salient points: Tia hasn't had a life devoted to her needs; when found she had A 'false pregnancy' with milk and overweight due to lack of exercise(Sept). Proven with children. Good with most dogs, but needs confident handler. Could live with dog friendly cats. Tia has an irregular heart beat which is fine and doesn't require medication but the stress in kennels has caused this to affect her health. Her home should not involve obligatory stairs. She so needs her home or a foster home.
Advert: Tia Maria is the sweetest dog. She is placid and welcoming to all approaches. She is middle aged. We’re loving having her with us and moved her kennels to enable her to have regular walks and cuddles whilst she sits out her 'Rescue' phase and moves through into her 'much loved Pet' phase. She is the most undemanding dog, requiring a couple of short walks and a garden to mooch around in. What she needs more than anything is a quiet life and companionship. Since been spayed and had warts removed.
Tia has captured our hearts and the heart of the rescue who took her in (ARC) and sponsors her care and kenneling. We are finding her forever home. We are sure that won't be long. She is "a gentle dog" in so many areas. She can be occasionally picky meeting dogs outside. This was her only fault when briefly homed with a young, dog inexperienced family. It meant that she was not easy to manage walking with a pram but passed in every other way. Tia is so lovely and proved herself over and over again in so many areas. Although she hasn't grasped it yet, she is on her way to gaining a life of fun and enjoyment. When she finds her forever home there will be huge celebrations all round.
Please visit Tia's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on this forum to find out more about her and follow her progress.
If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
Tia's thread below:
Tia is an ex-breeding dog whose owners tried to off load as a stray. Donna-ARC will detail her story and update her thread. Here are a few pictures... She has such a lovely vibration and yes that little tongue pokes out most of the time adding to her gentleness.

As Lynne says, same old story, earn thousands of pounds out of a dog and get rid of her when she can't produce for you any more. Unfortunately for the owners they were known to us as being breeders and weren't too happy when we confronted them with the news - quite abusive - but what the hell, she's safe now.
Now, what can I say about our girl? Beautiful, gentle, forgiving....I could go on.
She is fat and has milk so was scanned yesterday - such a good girl, didn't need sedating as she just lay there for us. No puppies in there so she will be spayed today. She also has a large wart and a couple of lumps to remove.
She is staying at the surgery as we don't have any fosterers available (once again we thank our lucky stars for having such a fabulous vet who will allow this). Not a peep from her, quiet as a mouse.
She greets other dogs with a gentle wag and walks past the cat kennels without a second glance. All people are greeting in the same friendly, calm, polite manner.
Hopefully people will see past her size and offer her that special home that she so deserves.
Oh the way she looks at you, it breaks my heart.

Human beings continue to disappoint me every day.
Tia is much better out of there anyway. Just fell sorry for the next brood bitch they buy.

All went well with Tia's spay yesterday, she also had a variety of lumps and bumps removed - it took over two and half hours.
She's also been chipped, flea'd and wormed.
Best news of all though - she's found a foster place!
Shani came to visit her with her shepherd cross plus a friend and her 7 month Staffie cross, plus two teenage relatives - so it was a big test. Sensible though as they are all frequent visitors to Shani's house.
Needless to say Tia took it all in her calm stride and luckily the other dogs liked her too. We have tested her again in the cat kennel room - she was aware they were there but completely ignored them. She also ignored the vets own cats when they were in the garden with her.
She is a star!
So off she's gone, with me saying over and over 'take things carefully and slowly, don't trust anyone till you are 100% sure...' but I do have a good feeling x |

Wonderful news for her to be able to sit out her wait for her forever home in a foster home. Keeping everything crossed. _________________ SHARONR - ADMIN

Spoke to Shani this morning - Tia is no longer looking for her forever home as she's found it - with Shani!
Oh, that it was always this easy x |
