Please meet Taz...

He has been in rescue for about three weeks now and is a crossbreed.

Taz is about 7 months old now and has had a couple of homes already.

He is of typical 'young lad' just bringing it together. Having had about 5 homes in as many months one of them with 2 shepherds and cats.

Taz would be ok to live with older and sensible children. He will need to visit puppy classes just to do some basic training.

Taz has been castrated, vaccinated and microchipped.

I had the pleasure of Taz's company for a nice long walk today. We went through the fields and met some chickens and horses (Taz was a little too keen for their liking!). Taz is a sweetheart, so excited by the experience. He was pulling on the lead, but just needs training on it. He jumped up initially, but as soon as he realised that he got cuddled and treats with all paws on the floor, he stopped doing it completely.

He has a gorgeous coat, and a beautiful little face. I really hope he finds his forever home soon; all he needs is someone willing to do puppy training with him and he will be the perfect dog.

Taz has been in kennels for months now. He first arrived in October and has been with us ever since with no enquiries.

We really tired him out today and it was something that he was craving. One to one with his favourite pasttime...people!

He is a lovable soul and even though he is excitable, he loves to have attention.

He also has basic training now, although he has to run off his steam to concentrate, but he IS only a baby! The secret to Taz is treat training. Not acceptable to many trainers, but I am old fashioned.

I had the pleasure of meeting Taz today. He is so full of character, so lively - impossible to resist. Interested in everything - cars,  birds, carrier bags.  Had to keep him on quite a short lead so his enthusiasm for everything didn't take him in the road.  We had a great jog together and from behind he looked more like a collie with those ears and such a beautiful red hue to his fur - almost like a fox. He did a lovely sit when food was available!  Loves his tummy rubbed and big hugs. He has so many adventures to look forward to in his new home when it comes along.

Taz... Laughing My little joker!  Razz

It was a complete opposite to when I saw Alfie being jogged along the road. To be fair, they had only just started their little adventure as I was arriving back to work from lunch this afternoon.

Alison jogging along at a steady pace...Taz thinking it was a great joke to try and jump up for cuddles at the same time.  Laughing In fact I was on the phone talking to Lynne at the time (hands free of course!) and I did laugh!!!
However, he came back and he had obviously had a great time. This is the first jogging lesson he has ever had and he is a dog with stamina, so he could easily make a good jogging companion once he gets used to the idea. He wasn't a natural like Alfie, but Alfie is far more grown up with Taz only being a puppy.

Which brings me to my next point! He is a puppy. Banged up in a kennel and he has been for many months now. I was trying to recall when Taz arrived, after being in 5 different homes. It must have been at least October when Taz arrived into my life and he has coped amazingly well for such a young and confident dog. This coupled with the fact that he is SO into people and SO desperate to be loved and that he has had to share the attention with up to 51 other dogs at a time in the busy periods shows how patient he is. He still enjoys his dinner, still meets everyone with a waggy tail, still lets us know if he isn't AT LEAST second out at exercise time with a happy little Staffie yelp (the sooner out he is, the sooner he gets fed I think  Laughing ) and still sleeps like a baby when it is time for lights out. No seperation problems at all with this boy. But then again he has spent many a night now on his own and in a kennel. I guess he thinks that this is his life now?

Taz has only ever had one enquiry but they felt he was too bouncy. Is it  because he looks like a typical crossbreed or whether its because there are prettier dogs available? Ye, he is bouncy, but understandable really. He has spent almost the whole of his puppyhood being passed from person to person and then incarcerated in a kennel. Hardly any life for a dog who just wants to love everyone. I am hopeful that his lucky break is just round the corner and that I can clean his kennel for the last time. Smile

Emma

Met Taz again today. This lad needs to be out in the world learning new things and getting lots of one to one. So much energy, so much fun, he just needs his chance.

Fantastic photos!

They have all gone up on the other forums we post on - takes about 10 minutes to do and hopefully he will catch someone's eye, but at the very least it bumps his thread up and it just might be spotted by someone that is his perfect home match!

So if any of our walkers manage to get some good shots and put up a little written update on the dogs they walk, say every couple of weeks, I will always capture them and use them on the other sites.  Guess it's best attempted at the end of a walk/run!  Keep them coming so I can get the dogs the best exposure. Tks  Smile
