Her Story: Sushi was the baby (substitute) until the real baby came, then out into the back garden in summer 09, literally at the age of 3. 6 months later, she began to get stressed in the wet and cold and thankfully came tapping on our door.

Salient points: Terrier with a capital T  hee  hee!!! Background of demotion into garden means she is still in rehab. so housetraining is there but fragile. Zany energy episodes when she gets overwhelmed and excited by it all, but soon calms. Needs light, but focused atmosphere to persuade her around to your ideals, co-operative 'most' of the time. Very loving. Good dog skills, but quite insular within the pack. We are looking for aleast one other dog in her new family.

Advert: Sushi is aptly named after Japanese rice-  a very precious delicacy - not sweet rice.. but with a hint of vinegar  Laughing  Small in stature; Oriental or ornamental! Ahh soo ... Sushi is SUCH a character and since she came in from the cold has been discovering herself all over again. In fact she is having a ball. She mixes well with the dogs in her pack, yes occasional terrier positioning, but generally she flows and out on her walks almost the perfect angel. She loves company and is very happy to be shadowing her adored people around or perhaps getting up to mischief in the nicest possible way. Sushi is emerging and thawing out...and a delightful character is evident ..a true comedienne.

Sushi has worked through a lot of pent up, held back, terrier frustration as she discovers herself to be a dog. Canine yes she is and is discovering her boundaries, the fun that can be had. What a dog's life can mean is her real surprise in foster its full of good food, fun games, laughter, sprinkled with a little star dust ..a few No's! and discovering and following her nose.

Please visit Sushi's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes- in Foster  on our Forum to find out more about her and follow her progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Sushi's thread below:

Sushi is a 3 year old Jack Russell living in East London. She wasn't everso sure about a baby coming into the house six months ago so she was put out in the garden to live. She hasn't coped very well especially with rain and now the cold weather is here. TinaD is going to collect her tomorrow and bring her to Gatwick (S) tomorrow. She is unvax'd and unspayed. She is good around dogs apparently

Oh bless her.  Let's hope a fosterer comes up for her.

Basically she is coming from a family who couldn't be bothered to put time into her, showing her that even though something new has come in it don't mean you get pushed out! So now she has been completely pushed out & that Really Boil's My Blood Mad

Lovely Sushi, which I am sure she is, even though I have not seen a photo yet, because she sounds like Ruby.

Awwww she sounds a lot like little Lucy, also an Eastender  Wink Banished to a bedroom, then 'rescued' and left in a garden instead Sad   She has had so much to learn, but she is getting there and so will Sushi.  Can't wait to see her - bet she is totally gorgeous  Very Happy

Little Sushi is the size of Tiny Molly. Her father was a wirehaired Parson's Jack Russell and her mother a smooth haired shortlegged  JRT.  Lived inside for 3 years with a 10 come 13 year old daughter. A little nervous coming into her kennel and when I went to take her for a walk shortly afterwards, but soon came over and I gently put her lead on.
She is 'pink' at the back but not convinced she is in season. Will be vet checked early next week.

I had the pleasure of transporting this lovely girl yesterday and (apart from being car sick several times, the last one all over my trousers!!! Rolling Eyes ) she really was a pleasure!

She is a happy, friendly, playful girly. Her tail wags a million miles a minute and she happily came with me and sat either in the footwell or snuggled on my lap for our journey to kennels (don't worry, i wasn't driving!!  Laughing ) She didn't show any agression towards other dogs when she was with me and seems fine with cats (she was actually quite scared of my cat  Laughing ) she didn't get to meet my rabbits but she sniffed their hutch and where they had been in the garden with just normal interest, didn't seem overly excited/interested/prey driven by the new smells at all. She doesn't seem to have had much training but caught on very quickly that she would get a treat if she sat rather than jumped up so i think that she is easily trainable. She mouthed a tiny bit but soon stopped when i told her "no"

She seemed a bit scared by all of the dogs barking and seemed quite bereft that i was leaving her there with all of the scary dogs. Her little face when she went into the kennel broke my heart and i felt like i was abandoning her-and i had only known her a couple of hours-if anyone can offer this lovely girl a foster home both she and i would be eternally grateful.

All-in-all she is a gorgeous, lovely girl and whoever snaps her up will be a very lucky person indeed!

She does look like a real star...can't understand how people can treat dogs like that!

We may be able to offer a foster place if you think she wouldn't upset our Smiffy??? He is a little set in his ways with us...and likes his peace and quiet!

Sushi is spayed on Wednesday.  She is then going into recovery foster with Jilly who will then deliver her into Trial adoption new home. How neat is that!
