Simba is a 2 yr old Male shepherd who was introduced to his current family as a pup and has been loved; cared for and trained well; having joined their than one year old Shepherd bitch Kiya.

To read up on Simba you are filled with awe..a dog who respects his families rules and wishes, enjoys off lead management and a loving family with young children that he really cares for. His Shepherd partner is 'top dog' but then he has never really seen a problem with that.

Simba is a treasure who will be neutered this week via our vets.  He will then go to join Kiya his partner in her new home as soon as possible to ensure they continue to support one another during their transition with their current owners love and blessings.

Simba met with a wonderful family today.

Lovely family of 6 - mum, dad and 2 little ones and also Hally gorgeous GSD bitch & cat!! LOL

Simba and Hally really hit it off well. Played very happily together. Simba happy to have another woman in charge too! LOL

Simba met with cat beautifully and Kathy and family delighted.

Has gone in with FVH but off to a fantastic start   Laughing  Laughing

An lovely update on Simba from one of the forums by his family ...

Quote:
We had a couple of nice walks today and spent most the day in the garden. A few photos of today! Simba loves the water, I hosed the path down or attempted to do so but he wouldn't let me! He just jumped into the spray of water, drinking and enjoying himself, like a puppy! Anyway, Hally has been a complete tart today and I am not sure if she is actually boss dog now! When out on a walk she is bossy but around the house she just flirts, see photos. Simba still needs to learn a lot but he has a really sweet nature. Will have to leave them for 2 hours tomorrow morning, wonder if they will be fine....

Both of them in the garden

And today:

Sorry, no new photos, we are just so busy at the moment. Took Simba to dogclass yesterday and he loved it! He is strong on the lead but good off and just loves to play and cuddle. Will update again soon! x

Another update from his family...

Quote:
Simba and Hally are doing really well together. Hally is still boss but I really think she loves having doggy companionship. Where we used to live she always had lots of dogs to play with but here near Marlow although lots of people have dogs and it is quite rural with lots of wood and the Thames next door we still do not seem to meet lots of other dogs and when we do, a lot of the owners do not like their dogs playing with GSDs. So I think we really made the right decision in getting no2 and he is a real sweetie. He would sit on your lap or on the sofa next to you if he was allowed! He loves my 2 girls and licks them whenever he can. The cat is still Boss here and Simba respects that. He does get very overexcited when going out (getting lead out) but he is not stupid, he will learn quickly that getting too excited just means he will have to wait for his walk longer as we only go out when the dogs are calm. Will try and take some more pics later. He does get a little stressed when we go out and chewed a puzzlebox while we were out but the former owners told us he would chew toys when alone if he had access so we now lock the playroom when we have to leave the dogs behind. All going well we'll sign the adoption form soon!

Seems Simba's new family want their adoption papers so blackmailed them into a few more pics!  Here is their update ...

"Right then! Finally a few more photos....

playing in the garden, you can see Simba needs to put on a little more weight

they just so love playing!

birdbath turned waterbowl...

Simba loves playing with my girls

Hally is in love with Simba, she is such a tart at home, lays on her back, teases him in the garden, they just so love each others company and he fits in really well with us. Hally stays bossdog, tells him off when we are out and about but at home he is her little toyboy! Went for a nice walk at Hughenden today (see thread in walks), we even took our two little girls and it was great. Hally and Simba really enjoyed themselves and got on well with everybody else.

What more can I say, he is just a sweet dog. Will take him to the vets this coming week to have him vaccinated as he isn't done yet and then hopefully sign the forms soon".

With the best will in the world Simba's Foster with a view to homing hasn't worked out so he is now fostered and looking for a forever home again.  The dynamics were good between himself and his dog partner Hally in everyway except outside. Hally can be a little intimidating when foot loose and fancy free and Simba, whilst a sedating force, has found it fun to run up and challenge some.  Simba is not going to be the leader and therefore role model, he has always been the one to follow, support and 'be led'. The current situation would have worked had he set the tone.

On a positive note Simba is still having a great time, but outside exercise is too challenging. There are children in the family which adds stress on the situation. Despite going to 3 different trainers, we have all acknowledged and agreed Simba is ready for his next move.
