I can't make sense of the sentencing even using the court's own guidelines.
http://www.sentencing-guidelines...._sentencing_guidelines_update.pdf
When considering sentence for prolonged neglect (and this neglect predated the holiday) the starting point is 18 weeks.
Then additions should be made to reflect that the offences invloved several animals, resulted in death and that animals were kept for a livelihood.
Even allowing for expressed remorse and a guilty plea I still don't see why the sentence was no higher than the suggested starting point.
Then again it was similar sentences handed out to the Lincoln dog-fighters recently. _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is a man`s best friend. Inside of a dog it`s too dark to read.

| Why banned for only 10 years. The amount of suffering deserves a life-long ban I think |

Probably doesn't make much difference. Bans are incredibly hard to enforce.
