Homing Requirements: Ronnie needs a terrier family who 'gets' terriers: a training focus would thrill him. Ronnie needs a secure garden & exit management. Ronnie would prefer to live with another dog(s). Ronnie uis not for live in children and supervised visiting young children. Ronnie may settle with small furries or cat. Ronnie loves companionship need inclusive family; can be barky during initial excitement.
His Story: Ronnie grew up with a couple who bought him on 'size', rather than exercised; and only socialised with daughter's dog. His garden was for chickens, only had a narrow walkway available to him. A trainer introduced him to dogs outside and advised lifestyle changes around Ronnie's needs: The family handed him over and bought a lapso pup. We agreed to take Ronnie. He is neutered, chipped and vax'd.
Advert: Ronnie is so delightful. He is learning about life and thrives on praise and task. He needs command but never confrontation (previous owners tactic). He quickly learns what pleases you and how to be successful! He needs to meet the world which passed him by from behind the sitting room window. Ronnie was fostered within a pack of 10 terriers and then other 6 terriers including 2 staffies. He loves to play and still learning to share laps and toys but easily swaps for keenly introduced better version. Ronnie has lived with an owl and chickens. He is comical telling the other dogs off but nothing behind it and dogs just smile; You need a sense of humour and you'll always be laughing. Kennelled in Gatwick area.
Ronnie is a tri coloured small Jack: as bright as a button . He has enthusiasm and adventure. He is fragile inside through lack of opportunity and exposure. He is comes off lead and meet dogs and life with a little gusto but is accepted! He is being introduced to a multitude of experiences and settle. Ronnie is extremely loving and a little head strong. Welcomes any suggestions with a sense of adventure. What a star!
Please visit Ronnie's thread on our forum to find out if still available and for fuller details. For daily updates Click our forum link and you will find the full range of dogs available for homing
Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found
***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs.
Love this picture Ronnie being slightly distracted by dogs barking!
Spent 9 hours in Ronnie's company yesterday. Adem displayed Ronnie's incredible capacity to learn and obey. He thrived on his tasks in paw, though was a little resistant to actually giving over his ball..but yes he did like all good boys learn to do.
Ronnie travelled in the front with me for most of the journey (except where I had Mowgli with me between Reading and Farnham kenns). I thoroughly assessed and tested his temperament and I can vouch he is without any 'sharp corners'. He was totally tolerant and indeed welcoming of all contact gentle; negotiated; firm and swift; touch both sensitive and firm; whilst he stood, lay and was asleep. I handled him with restraint whilst getting in and out of the car; collar; harness; fast moves; sudden moves. Providing Ronnie is given the respect that every dog and to some degree especially terriers need and should have.
Ronnie is great great great. I do not know why his relationship became tense with his owner. I do know he had extremely limited access to the garden and no walks of any worth from puppyhood through to adulthood. Ronnie has shown he likes to be busy with a task. The relationship that Ronnie displayed was of deep admiration and LOYAL. Adem probably at most has met Ronnie 6-7 times but everytime his sessions attracted him to new experiences and stretched him achieving positive rewards and affirmation. His sessions were not heavily treat laden. Ronnie is a very special Jack who will come through into the right family skipping with joy.

Ronnie started our walk with all his insecurities apparent but settled with super calm Henry...
I don't think he really got the walk thing today - what an exciting journey of discovery he has ahead
Ronnie moved in with 10 terriers today...now this is feeling like terrierrescue! Does he need rescuing ...no, he is beginning to have a great time..put on the music and lets have some whine!
Pics promised _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Ronnie adopted Lynne's lap when I left late last night. He then settled in his crate and slept. This morning he is running with the pack! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
I love this photo of Ronnie that I took on Sunday before he was fostered. Such a strong and bold face, reminding me slightly of a dobermans markings?!...
...Although his actual tiny size is apparent from this next photo! When we stopped for a drink in the stream, Ronnie began chasing the floating leaves and ended up swimming in less than half a foot of water, because his little legs couldn't reach the floor!
hi lynne
Just a quick update on Ronnie,
Ronnie has settled in very well as you will see by the pic's he is a very happy dog who will play all day and he will coerse any other dog to play AND YOU WILL PLAY he is a busy busy dog always on the go does love a walk and greats other people very nicely he met my friend terry at work and was very pleased to see terry and made a great fuss of him, he has settled in the pack very well in the few days he has been here, he goes in the crate no prob settles and is quite all night when you go in the room in the morning he is very vocal he is eating his meal in the same room as 8 others and does not go near any dog eating when he has finished,
he could easy go with another active dog and to some one who likes to be out and about with there dog or can simulate him with maybe agility or such like he will find anything to play with bit of cardboard bit of wood out of the garden anything bottle top plastic bottle anything l have sent a few pics will send separately as they take awhile to load.
He is nippy when the dogs bark if someone comes to the door easy cured tho' he just has a nip at them but does get told off, he is a bit protective if he is on your lap and another dog comes near you he dont have a go, just jumps down and follows them and when they settle elsewhere he will come back and settle on your lap does get a bit yappy in the cage when your putting the other dogs away
He is a fun dog!

Ronnie got into a tizzwas when he grabbed some butter off the side in his foster place via a kitchen chair. He has come into foster with us for as long as we can hold to avoid him going into kennels. So giving him walks and he is learning to enjoy the outside life
We enjoyed Ronnie's company for nearly 3 weeks but we couldn't offer a longterm foster. Ronnie spend most of his day with 2 staffies playing and playing with the younger one. It was always human company he craved for and was thrilled to meet and delighted in. Ronnie deserves an at home situation for him to provide the entertainment for. We had no issues with him being possessive just a little banter which the other dogs took light heartedly.as he for example chased them away to get the cuddles himself but then waited his turn while they received their cuddles. He has a very keen nose on him and will love to find things. Still working through puppy issues but coming out the other side. A Jack fan dream!
We enjoyed a lovely walk in the Park on our way to the kennels. He was a little over the top with a chocolate Lab. but it's owner took it all in good spirit.

My first walk with Ronnie was quite easy, he trotted along nicely, sticking his nose in anything he could find along the way! Such a sweetie but did struggle to get out of the kennel as he was very keen to join me!
