Homed

Homing Requirements: Teddy needs a terrier owner who can offer him confidence through his lead. Needs low dog density as he doesn't like dogs to run at him. He is exemplary in the home with visitors and family members. Needs terrier-proof garden and exit management. Not for cats or small furries.

Slide show: Teddy 'fun dog'

His Story: Teddy's previous owner found Teddy wonderful in every way but he could easily get over his 4' fencing and could be reactive to certain dogs outside. Teddy was tied to a rope in the garden and muzzle tolerant so safe on his walks. Then over confident he left his muzzle off and there was a tizz waz nothing serious but elderly owners nerve went as he was caravanning and there were lots of dogs off lead. We have had no problems with him around dogs but because we are terrier savvy and dont let bouncy off lead dogs approach him.

Advert: Teddy is a Fell terrier and true to breed, a wonderful fella. In the house and with people brilliant; he has been around children too and is very good. However, he can be head strong with dogs and can react until he builds up trust. Teddy is walking well in controlled parallel walking next to other on-lead dogs where no touch is allowed. This superb terrier has done so well with us in terrier competent hands, he can be as soft a butter!

Teddy is a black & tan broken coated 'old fashioned' Working lakeland' (Fell terrier). He has had a lot of training placed in him in the 10 months his previous elderly owner had him. Teddy enjoyed training classes, company and an active life of 3 walks a day and caravan trips away.  We meet terrier people all the time that feel able to take a terrier in hand and with a no nonsense 'kind firmness' and 'faith in you' attitude which begins to bear fruit. Teddy will take time as sadly we had had him returned by a couple who couldn't offer him that period with a muzzle as insurance. He has to learn to believe in himself and trust other dogs. Delightful chap; someone will be very lucky.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete Our on-line homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Oh lordie, he looks just like our lovely Marlow.  He sounds like Marlow as well, doesn't like other dogs.  Please dont let that put anybody off, our other dog hating boy is the love of our life and we wouldn't be without him, as we speak, he is sat asleep on the sofa cuddled up in a blanket with my daughter.

I am so glad he is getting the chance he deserves with you guys.  Fingers crossed for you Roly  Rolling Eyes

Teddy walked with Christine (flirted Embarassed) & Felicity (ignored Shocked ) today

Very keen when he spotted something in the woods.....

Mistaken to think his body would fit through the sheep fence too

He settled for a wallow in the stream instead :D

Had a lovely walk with Phoebe who was very amorous so Teddy wore a muzzle so we could allow close interaction. He isn't particularly interest in dogs; is receptive to Phoebe but very much on his walk exploring smells and just simply having a roll..

Had fun with the adorable Teddy today. Such an easy dog to walk and just so handsome. It's impossible to resist scruffing up that unruly mop of hair and he seems to enjoy it too ! Although I have to admit he does so with a solemn terrier dignity !

I'm not sure what he was looking at here but he looked so cute it was worth a photo. Such a lovely boy, self contained whilst still being loving and will offer a lovely scruffy cuddle when you need one.
