The consequences of finding it so hard to play God and say no when you know it is that dogs last chance; having kennel space available; and beginning to work closely with Emma Semple and Niall Lester who are the sharp end of knowing the SE pounds who are putting dogs down..has resulted in us having 31 dogs in kennels!! 31 dogs that are alive but needing our help.
We are paying £7 a day per kennel £49 per week. That is £217 a month!
31 x 217 = Kennel bill for January £6727 worst case scenario
We have to see each kennel as 217 per month but trying to move dogs through that kennel swiftly so it is optimised so some will bring return to support the long stayers. We couldn't do what we do without the support of our vets or kennel owners in offering us the rates we 'enjoy'.
Rescue Remedies now has no money in it's account and we are lurching forwards on what donations are coming in. We have £70 per month from standing orders gathered through kind hearted supporters. We need financial support which currently rests with my husband to bail us out.
Furthermore, most of the dogs that have come to us have not been neutered; vax'd or chipped. Our vet bill will be big this month due to complex ops. we have had done on some very needy dogs like Cece; Amy;
We have put our min. contribution up to £150. This isn't covering costs on our dogs we are in deficit with nearly every dog we home. We have set up staffierescue out of need to find our dogs homes but also to raise funds. A few core members are working 7 am until 11 pm. We are very pleased with the homes that have come forward...our dogs have light at the end of their kennels!!!
We need stalwart fosterers, we in truth have a few fosterers who on occasion can take; we need more people who can transport as I am spending literally days in the car when I could be talking to people who have completed the questionnaires. We will scale down but we have a big lump to swallow..but the dogs we have in now are wonderful dogs. By putting the posters up in your vets and pet shops you are helping bring money in by helping our dogs find their homes.
I feel responsible in over committing to dogs..sorry
I still feel we are at the beginnings of our venture..magic glistens on our path.

Positive outcomes in a week: www.staffierescue.co.uk is born..Arthur and Batleigh, 2 long stay Staffies are homed; Cece, Sebastian and Pooch have foster places; Marley and Rocky are homed therefore not needing to come on our books and Charlie and Bud have positive enquiries, sadly Rudi has disappeared off our radar owner didn't want to give him up..2 bull breed dogs need our help and we will commit to them despite our financial dilemma because we can't say no and cost their lives. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!

Really want to thank people who have and are donating via our websites paypal. No matter how small it is really appreciated and all those amounts are adding up and really helping us pay 'another bill'. We are conscious that some people have set up standing orders that do not show on the websites. They are a backbone to our work and are not forgotten but revered. We will be revealing our costs and income it is shocking to us all when we see how we are "flying by the seat of our pants" but lives we save and family lives and happiness we make!
