Homed Homing Requirements: Ralphie needs a family who appreciate terriers and can delight in Ralphie's charms as we do. He needs a secure garden and exit management. Confidence building would help Ralphie find himself within the adversity of change and instability he has suffered.
His Story: Ralphie was a rescue puppy a Rescue Centre homed him at 3 months old for 2 years. Then rehomed and handed back after 9 months in April for "escaping through doors the children kept leaving open". We were asked to find Ralphie his terrier home. Simply delighted to help this great lad. Neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently in foster in Tunbridge Wells.
Advert: Ralphie is everything the 'Jack'. He has his fan club as a result and is being fostered with a Patterdale x male and being nurtured until he finds his home. Our lad can get barky in new settings . Ralphie is delighted to investigate, explore and discover. Busy mind and is very rewarding as a participant ‘play mate’. Extender lead walks currently for him to gain connection and learn to meet dogs. He still can be barky when excited but soon settles. Travels well and is housetrained.
Ralphie is a tri-colour Jack Russell who has stamina, welcoming attitude and a proven history with children. Ralphie has done so well with us, he loves to play with dogs and will settled with an older dog. He is submissive so ideal second dog. Terrier people will soon unravel his charms, occupy his questions and kind energy. Ralphie is a true friend.

Ralphie's Thread is below: watch his progress through our Rescue Referral Details: Ralphie was homed from a rescue as a 6 month pup. He came into Rescue again and moved in with a family with children a year ago. He kept getting out of the doors, due to children not appreciating exit management regime with terriers. He was returned to the kennels who hoomed him nearly 4 months ago and has waited. We have now taken him on and feel confident we will be able to home him with responsible terrier experienced family alert to his 'freedom to roam' issues.
Ralphie came on to our books last week. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
I've walked this little guy a couple of times now, and he's a real character He struts around like a typical terrier, investigating here, there and everywhere, pricking his ears up at every sound. A real joy to watch It's hard to believe he's not been out for a walk for such a long time as he's very fit, perfectly in proportion and in fine health.
Looking forward to getting to know him a bit better, although hopefully he won't be with us very long. He's such a perfect terrier
Ralphie was out in the paddock when I returned with Millie this afternoon so they had a chinwag through the grate. Later into his kennel with a harness he was dancing for joy. Very excited initially and barky with his little terrier nerves but 20 mins in a very long walk he had settled in Michael's company and refocused on what terriers focus on Lovely boy but for a family who get terriers and adore him for his many gifts _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
I had a lovely walk with Ralphie yesterday. I don't think I've ever walked a JRT before and he was very good to me. He did have some initial barky moments with all the excitement of going out for a walk and getting used to seeing Mace who was waiting for us with Margaret, and then a large dog passing (sorry, I have no idea of the breed but it was grey and looked a bit like a standard airedale with a woolly hat on any suggestions?) with its elderly lady owner. When Janet joined us with Benny and we set off, Ralphie and I brought up the rear to give him a bit of space to explore. He soon calmed down and settled into investigating thoroughly. Bless, I don't think his little legs could quite keep up with Benny and Mace anyway and he decided to have a drink and a paddle in most of the puddles along the way. He has gorgeous markings and lots of lovely terrier energy, a really delightful little fellow with loads of character.
I walked Ralphie today lovely boy. We had a great time in the woods and then had a bonio. He seems like a very nice boy. I gave him a new collar from my foster collection as his was not working well. He did not have a tag on it.
Another lovely walk with dear Ralphie today. He settled down even quicker than last week and was soon heading off, enjoying the extender lead and exploring every blade of grass and patch of ferns. He was pretty keen on having a paddle but the silly boy missed out because he was far too interested in what Roly was doing (having a really lovely swim). We met an off-lead Westie and he was really good, no pulling or barking and soon off again trotting along in his funny bouncy way.
This little guy is such a character and has a really cheeky face too. We reckon he should be in an advert on the telly. A perfect JRT, bags of energy, attitude and a definite glint in his eye
I walked the delicious Ralphie on Saturday - he is my sort of terrier Busy, busy, busy, lots of smells to check out and so easy to walk - I left my camera at home so didn't get any photos but he was a little superstar
Briony walked Ralphie on Saturday and had a lovely, long walk with Roly, Zena, Carol and Michael. He was a little superstar - and has two big fans in Briony and myself
Been longing to get Ralphie out for a long walk and a photo shoot. Ralphie was just wonderful Terrier delight! So focused; alert; 'set' Text book poses for the breed specimen...took my breath away, Ralphie you did so with your majesty

I echo Lynne's sentiments regarding Ralphie! An absolute joy I took him for a trip out of the kennels on Sunday, he was fantastic in the car, very curious to see where we were going. We went for a lovely long walk with my dogs and my friend Briony and her dog.
He was superb with the other dogs, even when the ridgeback started chewing his neck to get him to play, he wanted to play but was limited due to being on a lead. Fantastic interaction between all of the dogs. He was a tired terrier by the time I returned him to the kennels, this was only the first trip out of the kennels of many - now I know he will walk happily with my gang it will become a regular occurance
Bless you Wendy for making Ralphie's life more enjoyable.
I hope these lovely reports and photos will convince people reading the thread of what a wonderful little terrier he is and they will be fighting amongst themselves to adopt him.
