His Story: Ben was bought as a Patterdale pup to join an older Border Terrier. He has proved too boisterous for the older placid dog.

Salient points: Young spirited terrier who needs an active life and good sized secure garden. Companion dog, too young to be left regular periods. Just coming through chewing phase.

Advert: Ben is a lively smooth coated Patterdale who is probably first generation from working lines.  He is a great personality who gets it right most of the time. Living in London with a rather sedate companion dog has been a challenge for his energy and all! Despite getting 2 long walks a day, he only has a small garden and needs to run and run. His chase instinct does not allow for off-lead trust. Now he is beginning to settle into adulthood. He may suit being an only pet  or join another who can offer him more interaction and put him in his place on occassions. A home where the pace can match his own needs. Neutered, vax'd, chipped etc. Sweet nature. Still with original owners in SE London.

Ben is a delightful terrier who is after all a 'working type' terrier with all the 'appreciations and considerations' that knowledge brings to the aware owner. Loveable oh yes. Cheeky and excitable rogue oh yes. He is now bringing it all together so his puppy ways are fading into consolidation of skills. He needs to continue his intensive socialisation with dog and strangers as Patterdales need their corners to be rounded: Then you can remain relaxed with him around 'meetings and greetings' though his excitement may always be a managed feature. Another 6 months and his full loveliness will be evident..lucky you!

Please visit Ben's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on our forum to find out more about him and follow his progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
