Retained by owners no longer up for rehoming
Homing Requirement: Louis needs a terrier experienced family without young children. Louis needs a terrier proof garden and to be retained on a lead whilst out. He needs terrier management during excitable events like post delivery or joggers passing close by.
His Story: Louis has been owned since a pup and has grown up with a late teens as an only dog. He has had his moments like many terriers, but that’s fine. The family are now wary as a baby grand-daughter visits daily and they cannot trust Louis as is general with some 'working type' terriers.
Advert: Louis is a handsome dog who has a gentle nature and is a loved family pet. He has been a treasured family pet and his terror moments have been accommodated and 'honed in' with an aware family. He is generally good on his walks unless he encounters too much excitement; like a cyclist coming too close. He mixes well with dogs and befriends them, given gentle introductions to build trust. He is managed on a lead with a muzzle to allow holding him back from dogs. He has dog friends around in his house and he also stays with a dog minder whilst his family have holidays. Louis is neutered and vax'd.
Louis is a really good example of the Patterdale, has had a stable background and is able to be left for periods without event. He travels well in the car. Louis hasn't been around very young children and copes with respectful aware visitors, but can’t handle running or crying children around. A toddler is visiting daily. The family have to find an alternative home for him where he can relax and not be 'put out of the way' as a risk management strategy. Louis makes a wonderful family pet and presents as an easy terrier to an experienced terrier home. He is loving, sleeps in his bed in the bedroom and generally is there with his family, involved in any activity on the go!

Lynne
Thank you very much for your email and consideration.
We took your advice and now muzzle Louis when outside, and in the presence of our grandchild / children.
This has been a great solution to our problem with him, and he seems OK with it, so we are now happy to keep him.
Thank you again for your help.
Kind regards

So pleased to read in Daily Diary for 25 March 2012 that dear Louis is being retained by his family. So glad they were able to work things out so he could stay. _________________ "Always remember your terriers - Protect them from wet and from cold - For the love of a tyke for its master - Can never be measured in gold" DP Todd "The Terrier Anthem" |
