Quote:
Jed is a 9 year old Lakeland terrier and has been with Stray Aid for 6 weeks.
He was owned by a couple and was used to having company 24/7, taken for regular walks and snuggling up to his owner on the bed. Sadly one of his owners died and he was left for 8hrs a day on his own so he was handed over for rehoming.
He was recently re-homed but this has not worked out as he can be a little excitable around his toys and had nipped a young child. He has a keen interest in toys but is not aggressive.
For this reason he would be better placed with someone who doesn’t have children. Co. Durham
If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
Jed is coming to us at the weekend _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!

Hi, I am interested in fostering Jed, initially, with a view to adoption if he worked out with us. Lynne has my details already as I had an unsuccessful attempt to rehome Gillie and I have been scouring your site daily for a companion for Rosa, my Lakeland. One of my problems is the distance I am from your kennels at Gatwick and I thought it might be opportune to have him brought to me, in the Midlands, rather than have him conveyed further down South, as transportation (time taken for this) is difficult for me. I'm not sure what the protocol is, but it struck me as a sensible move rather than have Jed disrupted too much. I am best contacted by Email
We believe Jed is being homechecked for. So is effectively reserved. Any offers of Fostering for our dogs gratefully received via a fostering questionnaire and then email communication. Fosterers must have the means of transportation. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!
Sorry Agnes didn't recognise you! Dee is having discussion with Jed 's rescuers..first homecheck didn't translate into the right home for Jed. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!

One of the volunteers from the rescue centre where Jed is currently based is going to make an attempt to bring him to me on Sunday, weather conditions permitting. We are looking forward to giving Jed a bit of love and care which, by all accounts, he desparately needs.
Jed was brought down yesterday from Durham by the lovely Beverley. He is an absolute darling and Beverley and all concerned have put a lot of effort in to his welfare. He has been groomed and kitted out with a posh new coat, etc. He is, however, painfully thin and is relishing the home environment - not straying far from his bed beside the radiatior. He's eating for Britain so I guess he'll soon get some meat on him. Although he has been with us for less than 24 hours, he is quite content and it feels as if he belongs and is here to stay. Rosa is quite accepting of him, although he is politely choosing to ignore her at present. There is no sign of any animosity in him and he loves a pet.
I'll continue to post his progress. Agnes.
