Can anyone tell me how many dogs Rescue Remedies have in to rehome annually? I am hatching a little plan to raise awareness and which will ultimately raise a few funds... Will reveal more later. (this only needs to be an approximation!!)

That many makes me well up especially when my dogs are lying sunbathing in the garden without a care in the world.
I thought I could do a small canvas of a different rescue dog every day of the week for a year. The project would take a year (I would do one a day but I need to br realistic) These little american canvases I get from the US have space on the back so I can write details of each dog and it's Rescue on the back. I could put an exhibition together to raise awareness , asking for a donation for entry. I would at the end auction them off (I would need to cover some costs here) but 60% could go into the Rescue? I know several auctioneers so could negotiate their fee and I think we could highlight the plight of a dog a week in Rescue being just a tip of the iceberg etc by getting some press coverage.
If I were rich I would do one a day, but needs must and it is my work and sadly work I must. Just would like to contribute!
I did run this past members on DP and discussed doing all different Rescue but the admin would be a nightmare an the proceeds would not go very far! Just kicking some ideas around. |

| That sounds like an excellent idea! there are dog magazines etc that would hopefully cover it too, to give it publicity? |

This is a mini canvas - except I have cropped the bottom off by mistake. They only measure 6" X 4" but I think 53 of them could have an impact? |

Oooops!!! I put every day of the week for a year in my first post - I DO NOT MEAN THAT!!!! I can't work that fast!! I meant one a week for a year - ie: 52 dogs.
Shall I get started - and where do I start - what dog shall I start with? Is it ok to use ones off the site if the photos are ok or should I liaise with one of the mods??? Help! |
