Harvie is a big Staffie black with white paws tips and chest. Harvey was given to his current family 6 yrs ago when a couple split, he was around 4 yrs old. He was owned by the 2 sons; the mother moved out 2 yrs ago. They both work long hours and at the most Harvey is getting 2 walks a week.
Harvie has been bred from; lived with puppies; babies and copes with being left long hours. Collecting him tomorrow. Pics to follow.

Yes HARVIE has arrived. Collected him on the way to kennels. Big softie..well proportioned..so impression is not leggie but just big. Pure Staff with all his whimpering and fussing...not knowing what was happening. Tim our vet checked him over, teeth need doing; claws; neutering. He had his first vax and will be wormed. So lovely to help this great 'Guy' _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!

Harvey is very lovable. A bit stubborn, but seems to gel with other dogs, although if they have a go at him he does stand his ground (which I fully understand).
This boy is in need of a long overdue dental. Typical that a dog that has been used for stud all of his life and earnt the owners big bucks should suffer toothache. The excuse was probably that they couldn't afford the treatment. Shame they couldn't put some stud fees back into the dog that got them.

Harvie met some cats today and it went quite well. He sniffed the cat through the mesh, the cat hisssed at him and he wanted to get out of there!
I didn't have time to walk him and he was so disappointed to have to go back so soon. I think he is unsettled with the dogs all around him - he seemed to keep away from them. Liz and Rachel mentioned he hasn't been getting on well with the other dogs this week. I think this needs a bit more work. Hopefully back to being sociable when he settles in better.

Harvie is lovely. He has a very good temprement and is quite calm and easy going.
Care should be taken around any dog when introducing to cats, but he showing all the right signals.

Harvey wall (Tree!) Banger..

Dear Jo and family accepted Harvie into their garden and were apologising for his gleeful moments, as I witnessed their tree being..'pruned' Oh and did he show beaver type skills This is a familiar past time hence his teeth were so worn down. However although intent could be called away, fairly easily.
A very wonderful family who understand Harvie has had years of neglect and glad his spirit is in tact. His personality is larger than life. Time for a long walk 'my lad' and may you enjoy many more. Think Harvey will be fine with the cat once they have had time to suss each other out. Jo will ensure no harm will come of her cat anyway..so fingers crossed Harvie may have found his home
