Posted: Sun Jan 17, 2010 9:12 pm Post subject: Freddie Staffie DOB 2005/6 Gatwick (S) Kens
Homing Requirements: Freddie has a slightly aloof nature until he is cuddled up. Could live with older children but must have an adult on the end of his lead. Freddie loves his walks and can be keen especially if he sees a cat. Best as an only dog; no other pets because he is cool!
His Story: Freddie went into a police station one day and was never picked up..the police really rated him and pursued finding him a rescue place. Freddie came to brighten our days on January 10.Medium sized Staffie 4-5 years old 'cool' with spectacular ears. Neutered, vax'd and chipped.
Advert: He is very connected into his 'leader'. Majestic, wisened and all knowing. He takes all in his stride. Freddie is a taute coloured Staffie with his distinctive pointed ears which give the impression of keen listening. Infact Freddie is attuned in his vision as well, seeing it all, but not passing judgement..just walking on by. Freddie looks on and tries to make sense of his life. His owner had no-one to stand there for his dog, but he has been a loyal companion and soon picks up friends on first meeting. Freddie is distinctive and just on looks alone you need confidence to take on this big softee!
Freddie needs TLC, a proper life which focuses on his needs and offers him a fireside and a garden to lie out in the sun. Freddie meets dogs well and doesn't react to dogs in the kennel block. Freddie is a one off - he looks tough, but on meeting you warm immediately to him. He wants to sit beside you for strokes and maybe watch you whilst you work on your PC or prepare a meal. He can be left for short sessions. Freddie is a darling, we really rate him. He isn't a tough man's dog, he is just Freddie who'll offer his companionship and make you smile.

Referral Letter: I am contacting you to see if either you have room for or could help me advertise a lovely lad called 'Freddie' (photos attached). He is at a fantastic kennels locally that we do the veterinary work for. He was a 'prisoner in police custody' dog, and he was never collected. So he has narrowly escaped euthanasia because we have said we will try to find him a home.
He is very friendly with everyone and has not really put a foot wrong.
We have tried him with other dogs on lead, bitches, and he took an initial
hello interest and then carried on with his own business.
He is entire (at the moment - but that can easily be remedied, as I work
at the vets) fully vaccinated now and identi-chipped. Can get him ear
tattooed if needs be. He has a quirky look, I call him bat ears. Veterinary examination puts him at about 4-5years with no obvious health problems.
Anyway enough rambling, if you can help in anyway (as I know you are
probably at your limits) I would be very grateful as I would like to give Freddie a chance.
Freddie is being neutered then we'll will find him his home. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!
Freddie always looks serious... that's because Freddie is serious. He is calm, cool, relaxed and walks as though he and you have all the time in the world.
He exchanged pleasantries with Winnie but wasn't that interested

Freddie was very easy to harness and walked very calmly out of the kennels, wasn't bothered by any of the dogs, we then met a very brave cat who strolled in front of him and he bolted towards it, he was very interested. We walked with Alison and Valery and they met nicely and he wasn't that bothered about her, he was a bit strong on the lead but chilled out after a while, was lovely and calm when I took him back into the kennel and took a treat so gently.
Freddie is so photogenic, but could do with filling out a little more in the body. He wanted to say 'hello' to all the other dogs. Hi coat was a little scurvy and his ears are crusty around the edges. He really need some TLC ... a very handsome boy ...
Karl & Freddie ...

Freddie is a great dog for new walkers to take out. He is so calm although he was a little more lively this week. He loves his cuddles when you stop for a sit down though which took me by surprise because when walking he is quite reserved. He is a just no nonsense sort of guy _________________ www.furryfriendsrescue.co.uk
Walked Freddie again today - he so needs some proper social time with other dogs - he was desperate to get to the other dogs and it wasn't in an unfriendly way. Noticed today that he has lost fur around his collar area but from a long time ago. He didn't seem to mind the rain today but it was very light.
