1am Sat morning I found a messed up staffie almost outside my house postcode CR6. Lots of minor open cuts and a gaping puncture wound in the chest.
Smelly, thin, and scabby but a beautiful nature despite his condition.
Informed dog warden, took to vets (not chipped) and spent ££ on drugs, introduced to family who in short time became very attached (we were guessing that this dog was not going to be claimed and hoped to have the honor of looking after Dog for a long time).
We spent Sun afternoon in the garden. Dog spends it's time following me closely or sun bathing. I was working half way down garden and last saw Dog heading back to house. Then suddenly it's gone. Just disappeared. The family must have started searching within 15 minutes of it last being seen. I've been out for hours in car and bike asking everyone but no clue.
The kids are still teary.
A roller coaster of emotions in one weekend.

Maybe he'll turn up on here one day.

I'm so sorry  Crying or Very sad

All I can suggest you do is get in contact with www.doglost.co.uk and www.alfieslostdogs.com and see if they can help.  I know he is not your dog, but someone might check on there to see if an owner is looking for him if he gets picked up.

I also have a list of Surrey vet e-mail address (compiled from Yellow Pages) if you would like me to send them to you and you can send them all an e-mail to see if he gets brought in?

Thanks. Posted to those sites. I'm not owner, just want to be - so if someone takes to vets then they have as much right as me . . . and I guess vets report does to county wardens?
I'll contact surrey and Croydon wardens and let them know I'll have him if no one else does.

mailed surrey vets, and daughter helped me put up posters last night.
We'll keep on it,  but I also filled out homing questionnaire - I don't feel hopeful of getting Dog back Sad

Seems like this case is going to be resolved.
I believe Dog is in custody of Warden, but the original owner (local to me) may now have come forward.
I can take posters down.
Thanks for your help and concern.

For those who have missing dogs - don't give up hope too early (I was just about to).

Has the original owner claimed their dog, then? And do you have any idea as to how the dog acquired all those injuries?
