Rest in Peace Elmo our very dear friend; a quirky little character who made everyone smile and jollied the world along. What a loss to us all..so sad but you know how much we loved you and always always, in all ways will.

Elmo's thread is below:
Homing Requirements: Elmo needs a family who are truly there for him. He is the sweetest little soul you ever met... so thats not difficult. Terrier experience would help

His Story: Elmo was found stray in Wales and ran out of time. Moved into safety to give another 4 days and we picked him up with delight. Just been neutered and being vax'd.

Advert: Elmo is so much a terrierrescue dog. His character is terrier in the best possible way. The size of a small Parson's Jack Russell- bright orange and busy; but calm interior. Tiny little 'elf' wisdomed eyes with a sparkle and a gleam. He is connected most of the time but very busy and so inquisitive. He is underweight and not looking the best cared for as he winds himself through rescue but water of a duck's back' He is cheerful and smart.

Elmo is a one off character and you think you want a dog ...you'll never meet another like Elmo! What can we say he is straight fromnthe pound and noone has been able to offer him foster yet but take him as he is and you'll be chuckling for the rest of your life...guaranteed. We nearly renamed him little elf...and he certainly needs a little 'elf from his friends!

Please visit Elmo's thread, in Terrierrescue Rescue Remedies    on our Forum http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about3630.html to find out more about him and follow his progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/ so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found"

Elmo's thread is below watch his progress through our rescue
Super chap read on!

Elmo was moved out of the pound as he ran out of time but he only has a kennel until Thursday. So we have agreed to take him Thursday. He is already neutered.

Elmo is named after a red furry muppet character from Sesame Street. He is a red brindle furry character. He is almost JRT size and bursting with character. Terrier lovers will whow at Elmo. I just can't describe the way he saunters along as though all his joints are hypermobile. He is a little distant as a character not the Staffie licking boy. But then he notices you and smiles. His smiles melt you. Delight, total delight.

Out and about with Elmo yesterday. He is a smashing little chap who has a unique look and personality to match. Very easy to harness and left the kennels with no fuss. Elmo trotts along at a nice pace, often checking in to make sure your still there and that he's walking in the right direction. He also has a 'pick me up and cuddle me' look about him which is hard to resist. Very nice dog with a lot to like!

Met Elmo for the first time today. It was inevitable really given the sad puppy dog look he gave me when I took Ringo from the next kennel.

Harnessed easily although he's so tiny he made my harness look like 2 hula hoops ...must get smaller one for next time. Walked out beautifully, loose leads, fairly close to heel and looking up at me with those beautiful eyes.

Although when Alison appeared with Jonesy(?) Elmo became 'engage forward thrusters' and was very keen to meet them both. Seemed to be confident with Jonesey bordering on exuberant.

I tried not to be disheartened when he decided that walking to heel was good.....Alison's heel though, complete with looking up at her adoringly in the fields on the way back. I just accept that it's just that Alison magic which I hope will rub off on me eventually.  He's so cute that he's already forgiven and I did get lovely cuddles when we got back.

I helped Antoine move Elmo (Stuart, Shadow and Drew!) to Gatwick North today. He travelled in the car really well (he was meant to sit on the floor by my feet, but spent the journey on my lap!). He was very welll behaved and dribbled all over the place!

We had a little walk when we arrived and he was very well behaved. He's a lovely chap, hope he finds a home soon.

I'm pleased Elmo behaved in the car. I'd like to think I helped having walked him yesterday afternoon not knowing he was moving.

Lovely to walk with although we both decided that the sheep were a little scary as we reached them on the path. For some reason they were all clustered in the corner and were glaring at us in a very unsheep like way.

I expect it was my reaction that passed down the lead however Elmo decided he wasn't going to walk past so I had to persuade him at a run. However once we were moving he was fine and we turned back to go past again to be sure. After that he was an angel again, such a sweet dog, I'll miss him at Gatwick S.

Poor Elmo has the sniffles but it didn't stop him getting so excited today when I visited him in his kennel. He was chewing the lead with excitement in fact, so a chain lead appeared and we walked him through the kennel block and out into the rain! Daniel who is 9 walked him which mainly involved holding his lead whilst he smelt and chewed grass and generally enjoyed being out of his kennel. Getting to know this little 'odd' character and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Jovial!

I did make a big fuss of Elmo yesterday but couldn't take him for a walk as he was poorly. Great to see him much livelier today!

Had a great walk with Elmo today, he is still a little chesty, but seemed quite bright. He was delighted to be outside in the sunshine, and we had a slow walk with lots of sniffs (him, not me!).

Hopefully he will continue to improve, he is so beautiful.

Haven't heard anything about Elmo for a while. Was wondering how the little pixie fella was getting on.
wish I lived near enough to volunteer as a walker. I laugh every single time I look at some of his pics, and I look at them often.

Elmo caught my eye when he first arrived but I have not had the chance to walk him before - what a delight!  We had a lovely walk in the rain with Lexi, they didn't take much notice of each other...

despite the enthusiastic start he is still suffering with his chest & a thorough rub down with a towel (which left him shining like a conker) + his heat lamp on doesn't come close to the tlc he should be getting in a cosy home.  Beam me up Scotty...

Tiny Elmo came for a ride to the vets today and was snip and chipped. he had an undecended testicle so a little more involved, so a little more wobbly on his pegs when he walked before going into his kennel with his lovely meal and comfy bed. Sleep well little Elmo!

Today I was very impressed by Elmo's dog skills. We went on a walk with Seamus and Judy and Elmo always behaved perfectly, waging his tail and kissing hellos each time he had the opportunity!
