Homed Homing Requirements: Dove could easily live with a dog or 2. She is 'terrier' so cats and small furries are too exciting. She has prey drive so leaded around livestock and streets where cats and foxes run a mock. Secure terrier-proof garden and exit management. Could possibly be first time dog owner’s dog due to her dog fluency and general charm!
Her Story: Dove was found walking down a high street at 2 am in the morning by the police. She obviously had a litter of pups somewhere as she was full of milk, but her condition was very poor so obviously no caring owner around. She was unclaimed and came to us for TLC. Her poor condition was due to malnutrition and under nutrition, basically related to all nourishment having gone to her pups. Now spayed, chipped and going through vax.
Advert: Doves fly from those they fear, but land and grace their loved ones with blessings. Dove has landed amongst our rescue to be admired and nurtured as her flight up until now, took its toll. Dove is dog fluent and a happy mixer. She could be an only dog or live with many. She is fostered on a small holding/chicken farm and her terrier traits don't make it easy!
Dove is a Parson's Jack Russell size and in nature BUT she definitely has the very loving gentle bull breed qualities of an English Bull. She is still a puppy in many ways and so mischievous which brings fun into her activities and her owner?! She is an easy terrier but needs training and support through her adolescence as she catches up, dots her i's and crosses her t's.

See Dove's thread below: Watch her progress through our Rescue Referral letter: Hi Lynne
Dove is a female Eng Bull, approx 1 year old. By the looks of her, she had a litter with her first season. She was found straying in Sittingbourne, picked up by the Police, and taken to Gillingham Police station, where we collected her from. She is very smelly. My guess is that she had served her purpose & was just dumped.
I took her to the vets last Tuesday. Temperature was fine, tested for Sarcoptic and Demodectic mange and ringworm (uv lamp), nothing found. Given a jab of something? to help itching. Bathed in Hibbiscrub. She did appear to be responding, but started scratching at a sore spot over the weekend.
I try very hard not to get attached to dogs, but she is really lovely, and sort of knew we were trying to help her. As no one came forward to claim her, which is very worrying considering the amount of milk she still had, her time is running out at the kennels. She isn’t really re-homeable as we have loads of Staffies in far better condition, which is a real shame as she deserves to spend the rest of her life as a loved pet and not just another Staffie statistic. She will need a bit of time and lots of TLC to recover from her skin condition, but I’m sure she will be worth the effort.
If you can be of any help at all it would be much appreciated, Tim Dog Warden
We have agreed to take Dove and want a foster place for her if in anyway possible, if not she comes into our care and we will hire a kennel for her Friday. We still all continue to be shocked by the plight of our dear dear doggie friends _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Jill asked if I could post some pictures of earlier on today which I am happy to do so enjoy... Jill is a wonderful kind and caring lady who will do the the absolute best for Dove and offer her a 5* life.. Lovely lovely lady whom I am very fond of
Dove with Jill
Beautiful girl
Can I play?
waiting for Jill to collect the eggs
Play time - At high speed
A little Video for you to cast your eyes over, this is typical staffy play very vocal and fast paced he he
Lovely video Hayley . I will have to wait for my children to visit before I add any more photos - I'm too old for all this technology!!
Dove has had a bath as she was rather smelly and we are having some success with housetraining.
She just met the cat on the doorstep which was interesting - took all of us by suprise!!.
She is an absolute poppet. Sits nicely when asked and tries hard to wait for her food but she is VERY hungry. Loose with Ollie at the moment in the kitchen - so far so good.
Yes what a day it has been for Dove she came out the pound at high speed and all I could only think was terrier! As we settled on our journey English Bull Terrier became very clear but very young hence she has been moved to RR. She is about 11 months old so revised referral information. Her milk as just dried up. She is underweight and her skin is very saggy so she has under gone rapid weight lose feeding her pups. Our vet could not detect Mange despite skin scrapes so has placed her on 2x daily antibiotics for her skin/fur and 3 weekly advocate. She was microchipped and we will gradually build up her weight and condition. Aiming to spay in 3 weeks time (she still has a discharge post puppies) and will 1st vax at the same time.
Dove is dog fluent but we will await her fluency reference chickens and cats! Jill and she are already very taken with each other and nice interaction with Ollie despite her excitement levels.
So we have a new definition of the word Luvvy Dovvy!

Video with Dove (white), Diva (white merle), Miles (red), Arnold (dark brindle) and Ollie (brindle). Chillie (red) is in the background but comes over to Dove Dove flying in peace! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Dove is very much the puppy - its hard to believe so has already had a litter.
Ollie has been very tolerant but they spent the evening on separate sofas!!
At bedtime Dove went into her crate. A little verbal protest initially but then slept through until 7.30. Shows how tired we all were!!
This morning she came with me to do the ' morning routine' and watched from the pick-up while I fed the cows and chickens. On our walk she saw sheep and deer. Quite a lot for a baby from a town.
Meet up with my lovely friend Jill today and Ollie to go for a walk with the gang. Jill has worked wonders with dove and I think that you will all agree in just over a week she looks amazing. Dove is fluent with other dogs although meets other dogs a little bit excited this will settle.

The Dove landed today..on John's shoulder as he transported her to us and she entered the vets. She is in a much improved state ...thank you Jill and Ollie. Ian spayed, 1st vax and gave her another course of antibiotics for her skin. So next phase of healing commenced and prep for her forever family. John transported her back into Jill's care. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

My son is home from Uni so I can now add some recent photos of Dove. Dove has been with me for three weeks now and has made really good progress. She is housetrained with regular reminders! Off lead on non-livestock areas of the farm with really good recall. Care is still needed with anything that runs!!

Dove has been with us for five weeks now and what a lovely little dog she is. She is bright and cheerful, pleased to meet new people but not over the top. She is not too licky! and is very cuddly.
Dove has helped Ollie to remember the joy of being a dog. They play a lot.....
Today, we all went to Camber sands. First time off the lead in the company of lots of strange dogs. Dove didn't put a foot wrong, met all dogs nicely and ALWAYS came back when she was called. I was like a proud mum...
In the time Dove has been here she has shown herself to be very quick to learn. She is now off lead around ALL livestock . I think this shows how keen she is to please. Chickens are still very tempting but she is so connected that a gentle reminder is all that is needed. Yesterday she came into one of the large chicken house with me and behaved perfectly - a real little star
Fostering Dove has been an amazing experience. When she arrived I had only been a dog owner for a couple of months and at the beginning there were times when I did not think I had the right skills!! We have learned together. Dove had never been house trained and I had never house trained a dog --- so we started off with loads in common!
Dove and I are just back from our first Dog Training class. I thought it would help to keep up her dog skills. She was very excited at first but was praised for a very nice 'sit' Clever girl!
