Homing Requirements: Small medium, vibrant, fun dog. Needs dog experienced home with active life style. Excellent with dogs and must live with at least one other. Main issue which has prevents Cassie finding her home is she has strong chase drive with cats & squirrels. She needs retention on an extender lead and an alert focus like lurcher owners have. Highpanel fencing or walls and exit management. No cats or small furries. Can be left, non destructive. She is independent minded like a terrier doesn't enjoy too directive or confrontative stance.  She is easily distracted and managed with treats.

Her Story: Found stray in Dec 08 and saved from a Staffie prejudiced pound by a group who funded her release saving her life. The other 2 Staffies in the pound weren't so lucky.

Advert: Cassie is a beautiful Staffie cross. She has this long white sock which looks so different, as though she has come out in a rush and forgot to put the other on (perhaps she did). Cassie has abundance of personality and will have your extended family talking...can't wait to meet her. Older children would be in awe of her energy and "whow personality"..what a family dog. See the smiles on visiting children's faces as they jump out of the car running towards the house "where's Cassie, where's Cassie!"  Her fame travels as she has some magic about her - as a therapy dog she will put people at their ease and gives them a sense of positivity and enthusiasm. She is a "no nonsense"/ "happy to see you, lets have fun"- dog. She loves dogs of all sizes and loves to play. Cassie is spayed, vax'd and chipped. Not for cats or small furries.

Cassie is a well proportioned dog, in good health.  She is intelligent and ready to learn what is to be excepted of her. She'll soon be offering you her paw and doing your washing up!  Cassie needs occupation and an active life style. She has a special need; strong chase drive which is possibilty to do with her past life. She needs a very secure garden as lurchers do so at least 6 ft panel fencing. Experience tells us she ceases to be concerned once settled. Cassie is ready to devote herself to a kind owner who will lead her, focus her and truly admire her many, many gifts. She will stay by your side for the rest of her life as that admired dog, who out-shines all other contestants!.

Please visit Cassie's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in kennels on our Forum http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about953.html to find out more about them and follow her progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/ so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found"

Cassie's thread below: See her progress through our rescue

Cassie was the lucky one of three staffies in a Kent pound. The pound has the mentallity  'too many staffies..would they ever find a home..so they do the deed after their 7 days are up' Some people who were there for her scraped up 2 weeks kennelling fee which they couldn't afford to find her safety. We neutered her last week and Emma vax'd and chipped her yesterday.

Cassie was just over the moon this morning to be getting some extra attention and in between standing on her back legs having a cuddle, she raced about the paddock and kept presenting me with many sticks of all shapes and sizes.  Laughing Then she did a silly thing and decided she wanted a belly rub and rolled over in the ice to show how well her spay scar is healing up! She showed typical Staffie style and was not phased by being covered in icicles, shook them off and took off again.

Cassie is a very lovable girl. She exercises well with other dogs. She likes her toys and her attention.

Cassie also helped a young lad who came to the kennels today get over a fear of Staffies that he had. He isn't particularly keen on dogs in general but was looking to help get over a particular phobia that he had.
Cassie was definately the therapy that he needed and she played nicely and once again wanted to show him every single stick that was in the paddock.  Rolling Eyes  After she had been put in her kennel, he announced that there wasn't anything wrong with that dog...which there isn't. Smile

OK met darling Cassie today.  Saw her out in the field and was delighted as I had my camera on me ..called the work experience man to stay there..Cassie came bounding over to the fence and we made a fuss of each other.  When I got into the field she was all over me like a rash.  We could not get her to move away so I could photogragh her and the light was fading.  So we just had to indulge her in lots of fuss until she simmered down. 15 long minutes later..

Cassie Cassie met you today and we enjoyed a walk together.  I learnt a lot about you..what a diamond you are. You are very beautiful in your tiger skin coat..with eye lashes that glint in the sunshine.  You have an ever-ready smile and such enthusiasm for the off ... catch up if you can.  And I hear of stories of "flying maidens" scaling 7" fences..perhaps several attempts and you're over..to join the staff having their tea break. So tell us sweet Cassie how were you found stray?! Wink

And we walked in the sunshine and you gave me such peace and interest to be strolling up this country lane with you..with your gaze all around..your interest engaged here and over there.  Oh such a reaction from the farm Collie standing on the hill defining its territory and you looked slightly aghast  But Cassie tell us what changed in you when you came a cross the chickens moments later ... excitement, enthralled, shocked and a nose poked here and there.

We met the lovely Cassie to play briefly today. Josie (11) had fun throwing toys and playing tug with Cassie. She would not let go though except sometimes for a bit of fuss or another interesting toy! Boundless energy, this girl is fun, fun, fun! Like my own dogs though, has not got the idea of fetch at all. She is just waiting for a fun family life.

Took Cassie out for a 'jog' today. Once she got going she wasn't having any of this jogging and insisted I try running properly! With a lot of help from her I ran faster than I have tried before.  Getting her ready to go was such a challenge!  One very fiddly harness which of course she immediately wriggled and jiggled until it tangled. Then just as I was getting somewhere she rolls on her back - anyone who has met her will picture the scene! Repeat 3 times approx then off we go.  No fear of cars , just interest so I was glad we went the quiet way. Chickens behind the fence - ok but escaped chicken wandering about in clear view was another matter.  But I persuaded her it was more fun to move on. It was so lovely to see her back in her kennel but chilled. Later though she was back to her 4ft  high  4-legged pogo when I went past.

Took Cassie out for a walk today with my son 14 and daughter 11. They both loved her even though she was strong on the lead.  Very bouncy but not at all threatening. My son really took to her which was pleasing because he is wary of lots of dogs.  Another one we would take home to foster if we could. This little girl needs to be out enjoying the world and part of a busy family.

Cassie had Taz for company  today for her walk. They muddled along quite nicely. Cassie thought he was a bit too much with his energy but that is like the pot calling the kettle black! We were intimidated by a field of cows today - one came towards us then 20 more followed - on the other side of the fence thankfully. Cassie was ok at first but told them to keep back. I can see her point - they were not being friendly. We took the long way back so missed them.

Cassie, oh Cassie thought we'd try a joint walk, but your level of excitement coming out of the kennels was such and we took it slowly ... no you didn't, it was a struggle to contain her enthusiasm!

Out on her walk with Mac she did really well. Curious to meet, but we waited for her energy to settle ... and when it did, she greeted Mac really well and they walked along side each other for a fair way.

Cassie's enthusiasm then kicked in and she became the leader of the pack. Come you lot..keep up!

Took Cassie out yesterday - well strictly speaking my friend Leanne did while I walked Harley.  Introduced the two of them absolutely no problems.  Harley fell a bit in love I think.  Both Harley and Cassie are very good on the halti so Cassie and Harley walked all the way shoulder to shoulder in the middle of Leanne and I.  So relaxing!
We stopped on the grass verge and Cassie rolled over onto her back for a wriggle about in the sun while Harley gave her a good sniff.  They both drank my bottle of evian  Very Happy and off we went again the four of us in a line.  Easy Sunday days - ahhh

Sarah is in love.......Cassie casts her spell again!

Cassie has come on so much and mixes so well with other dogs...Rod, Sarah's husband returning from his walk with Buster (staff) stated how well Cassie and Buster got on walking together. Buster was reactive to dogs last week! I don't know about spells  more like magic potions going in these's dogs food bowls

Aww poor Cass Sad Luckily today was a good day Smile She greeted me with a lovely grin and waggy tail as I came into the paddock and put her harness on (which is always easy, she's fantastic at that). We walked with Tiger Lily and Mark. Most of the way her and TL were great together, I was very proud of her, better than when she walks with some of the boys (i.e. the dogs!). Tiny scuffle at one point but nothing major.

Cassie further impressed me at our water and cuddle stop by doing a Sit followed by a Down all at first command, she's such a clever girl, there must be endless other things someone with the time could teach her and I'm sure she'd love it.

I had to grab my suncream out the car before heading back to kennels and she leapt in when I opened the door with no hesitation, so I get the impression she'd make a great travel companion too!  Very Happy
