Hi Lynne,

I have an update on Buster for you but I am the bearer of bad news again. Buster was quite ill and although on the necessary treatment to help him get better he just didn’t have the strength to shrug it all off. He deteriorated and was put to sleep. I think he was missing his home life too much and couldn’t adapt to the kennel life.

I’m so sorry things turned out like this.

Yours,

Nicola

It has taken me all day to find the courage to post this...Oh Buster

Buster's thread below:

Buster has been owned since a pup, joining a Shepherd bitch Cassie and another male Staffie. He has grown up with 2 adults and 6 children spanning all ages young adults thru to baby.  All was well until Cassie died then lads began to have spats. The other staffie was rehomed. Baby arrived, agility classes ceased and Buster's light went out.  He finds himself alone with a owner who can't walk him, her life centring around the baby. Male family members try to walk him once a day, but his energy levels are high. He needs more occupation and activities centred round his needs.

Buster did so well up until the last 6 months but is showing signs of not coping with the changes with having reduced exercise; attention and feeling loss of dog company. So Buster needs a family where he can become central to the focus of activity and receive an exercise regime equivalent to what a young dog of his breed needs.  He hasn't lived with a cat but is kind to sister's Guinea pigs licking the cage.  Brilliant with people and children. Needs head collar as he pulls on the lead in his keenness to go go go. Good with food. Needs to settle again and have companionship.

Buster is a beautiful dog with a very good foundation. He understands his commands and plays with dogs outside. Heavy on a lead, but a halti would help as would regular exercise. Mainly comes off the lead in open spaces. Buster finds it hard to tolerate being left alone without dog companions.  We are looking for a new home for Buster. Buster is neutered, vax'd and chipped.

Buster is a kind gentle proven dog with children and still very adaptable.  He is so handsome and very intelligent. Hoping his new family and home will come soon

Buster says "Get in line, form an orderly queue" because he is giving out autographs!  He was featured in the Sun Online today - selected because of his beautiful smile!

Let's hope it brings in his home plus others.  The link to the feature is: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homep...malsmistreated-dogs.html?offset=3
