Homed Homing Requirements:Busta needs a dog competent home who will work with him to settle him in new surrounding. He needs a secure garden and thrives on routine. He could live as an only dog or with other dogs. Busta could live with dog friendly cats. Busta would prefer an adult home.
His Story: Busta's owner died and he was taken in by a family with other dogs but these dogs didn’t accept him. Busta came to his fosterer in May and has settled in with her 3 dogs. Busta is 6 years old, neutered, vax'd and chipped. He is fostered in Cambridgeshire
Advert: Busta lost his owner and his home. He has been in his foster home for 7 months with 3 other dogs. There was just a little positioning over toys and food initially, but now Busta is instigating play. Out on his walks he is keen and has taken training to connect in, to tame his pull, as with any terrier. He is off lead with his companions and meets dogs well. He has some chase instinct which needs managing i.e. loves the sound of a squeaky toy. Busta has learnt to share toys and food as he was displaying 'only dog' syndrome. His fosterer is conscious of his skill deficits and is making headway offering weekly training sessions, and agility.
Busta is an old fashioned black and tan Collie X Terrier type. All things considered Busta has come through this last year so well. He is doing so well to cope with a menagerie of stimulus, circumstance and varied activities. He needs a confident dog owner to lead him forwards and then he won’t look back.

Referral letter: "I have personally met Busta and absolutely loved his personality. He had only been with his fosterer Lesley for 6 days at the time and he was totally devoted to her, this is going to be one loyal dog. He does tug on the lead in excitement but this can and will be worked on by Lesley. He is a playful chap but not over the top. He met all my dogs nicely (despite one not introducing her self too politely!!). His pictures make him look alot bigger than he really is, he is the size of a Parsons Jack Russell Terrier, about 15.5 inches to the shoulder, fairly short in the body and at a guess weighs around 12kg. He is a nice, compact size.
I hope his forever home sees this advert soon so he is not waiting too long. xxJoanne"
What a nice boy.Lets hope a permanent home comes up soon as it sounds like he has quite and unsettling time. Great foster home at the moment will no doubt do wonders and then hopefully someone will see him now and realise what a loyal loving boy he is. This lad deserves a break.
Busta is back with me after my weeks holiday, many thanks to Hayley for taking him in & looking after him so well while I was away. It is great to have him back with me but will be even better to get him settled in a forever home.
Joanne's suggestion of a chain lead to stop his tugging worked well for a while but he has know stated tugging on that as well! Hayley found he loves to carry a latex squeaky ball & so we took that out this morning & he can't tug with a ball in his mouth - he just has to hold on to it all the time or my Jojo grabs it & teases him with it!
Busta is a very clever little dog and learns things very quickly. Busta loves squeaky balls with a passion.
Last Sunday at the agility training club I run he was fine with everyone & not bothered by the other dogs. He did a little agility with one of the other members, & a complete course - with some luring & lots of rewards, with me - I was so pleased with him.
Busta does get very excited when we are going out for a walk, but does settle down once we are on our way. He can also jump very high & will try to get his squeaky ball from you.
He has settled in well with my 3 dogs. He is well mannered with them at meals times & won't try to share their food. He would be just as happy as an only dog as it is human company he seeks rather than his canine companions. He is never far from me, following me from room to room and loves to cuddle up on my lap.
He does seem to be uncomfortable with some people and this needs careful management to avoid him feeling worried and stressed.
He will make an excellant, loyal companion to the right person.

I thought you would like to see some photos of Busta having a go at agility. Busta does learn quickly! He is not comfortable in the show environment where there are a lot of things going on but loves a game in quieter surroundings.
This week he was chasing after my terrier (who had stolen his ball to get his attention!) & they were wizzing through tunnels together.
More pics of Busta. Lesley is offering this lad so much..and he spend a weekend with a cat and would you believe it he ate the cats food! Fine with the cat!
