Homed Homing Requirements: Frizbee needs a terrier aware family without young children. He could live with other dogs. Needs regularly grooming every 4-5 months.
His Story: Frizbee was found stray and homed with one of the kennel staff. He on several occassions was a little retorical back when strongly reprimanded, just catching clothing but she could keep him living with children. He is neutered but still to be vax'd.
Advert: Frizbee is a Scottie cross judging by his long nose. He is wirehaired He has a lively and cheerful disposition. He is great to walk and he loves to play with dogs so would suit a family without such young children. Frizbee is jolly and is ready for 'delight'. He would mix with visiting grandchildren providing they dont start pitching their wits against him all will be well. In terrierrescue we never recommend the confrontation approach terriers are very easily distracted; manipulated and attracted away from undesireable into 'best boy' behaviours.
Frizbee will be a joy to the experienced terrier person; they will laugh and they meet the challenge of shaping his behaviour. Frizbee is going to be the gardener; the laundry sorter; the postalarm and visitor's dancer and charmer! Happy to live with other dogs and extender lead until proven to be beyond distraction. Smile..chuckle and chatter. Frizbee will be easy in the right family.
If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Frizbee breezed out of his kennel today and spent 6 hours in the van bless him..poor love. I kept him entertained with 'good boy' chants and everytime his little tail was banging on the side of the crate with enthusiasm.
Then suddenly there was Peter...with lead in hand and ready to waltz him off for a dance along the river and into the sunset. Peter has offered to give him a break from kennels whilst we vax; chip and hopefully groom him..then we'll have to put him back but am sure it will be short term! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Yes, Frizbee is at the Kingston Kanine Kollection Korner and already in a Bulb Krate....
There has been a very kind offer to groom him (in Guildford, I understand) and I'm really sorry to decline - he has so much dead coat and he is rather smelly - but life is, well ... life ... at the moment. Not than Frizbee cares .....
Yes, most of what you see in the pictures shouldn't be there! Spent some time with Frizbee and the brush this morning. Now have a quarter of a carrier bag of dead undercoat and there's more to come. He was very good about the whole thing.
He was a Really Good Boy at the vets' for first vac today (vet found he already has a chip); no panic in the waiting room, calm on the table, didn't notice the jab. Vet said his teeth could do with a good clean up. That explains his "under the pier" aura (Frizbee, not the vet)!
Barking at dogs on his walks, so difficult to engineer any proper meets, but seems OK if owners don't drag their pooches away in disgust. My firm "No!" (well, sort of firm) seems to filtering through those furry ears.
Earlier in the day was anxious not to be alone in a room, even for a moment but now too tired to bark. Back in his crate, snuffling in his sleep, ahhh!
That's the boy! Wonderful work Peter...he must be shell shocked to be out of kennels and in the throws of life again. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
All credit to Frizbee; he's a little sweetheart. Sat patiently on the table, let me do his face, ears and tail (haven't ventured too far with tum and bum yet) and expected to be lifted down. Another cuddle monster ...
Peter has reported...Frizbee now homed in 'terrier heaven' with Bonnie his new Westie partner...life hopefully will be as clear as black and white! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

Hi All,
4 days in and I thought an update is the order of today.
We lost our 13 year old scottie - digger to sudden illness recently and was keen to fill the terrier-shaped gap that was left, especially if we could do it with a hound who had fallen on bad luck.
Frizbee joined us on Sunday and fitted in here straight away. He was welcomed with civilised indifference by our 13 year old Westie - Bonnie. It has to be said that Peter did a sterling job getting him match-fit and ready to charm.
He answers best to 'Frisbee' rather than 'Breezy' and it is pretty certain that this is likely to stick. I'm not sure which is best...or worst, but he doesn't give a stuff! It was my missus' idea...I suggested a compromise but it was pointed out that 'Febreezey' might not work and at worst may be a breach of the trades description act! 'Windy' would probably be more appropriate.
Frankly, he is a little darling who is a joy to have around the place. He is extremely considerate and respectful of Bonnie, but he probably wouldn't have a choice on that score as Bonnie would soon administer discipline if she felt the need! He settled in to eat next to her, into the next bed and alongside on the sofa. Not a grumble from either party. In fact, she has even started shuffling up alongside him closer....being a little deaf, we think she may be using him as ears.
He will even let us check his teeth, remove a soggy Bonio from his gnashers mid-chew and generally check the vital signs. His only vice is a tendency to be slightly vocal on occasion, but this is improving as he gets used to the ebb and flow of life here in the tropics (that is West Sussex!).
He is very happy for twice daily walkies (although Bonnie only joins us for the morning as she is usually resting for the rest of the day!) and has started to get familiar with our local doggie haunts. He is also a good car-dog, and is happy to peer out the rear window of the Skoda leaving his nose print as a momento.
He is still overly excited whilst on walks and extremely vocal from a distance to other dogs, which can be off-putting to some dog owners who assume he is a nasty bit of work and run away. In reality, when we get close enough to say hello, all is well and he shuts up. But already with some firm, patient handling, he is settling down, becoming more relaxed and considered in his choice of bark. I am optimistic that in a few weeks we may even be able to try him off the flexi-lead in a suitable environment, with good doggie company and when the planets are aligned precisely. Once we get over that hurdle, we'll be home and dry.....but one step at a time eh?
Anyway, that's it for now. more soon! Many thanks to Diana and Peter for their help.
Don't you just know Frizbee is now in the very best of hands. Thank you! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

Hi All,
Frisbee's Log, Day 6.
Went to the vet today. Will need teeth sorting, looks like a big job, but hey, even the top celebs have their teeth 'whitened'! Our westie will also need some work, so he's in the best of company.
Yesterday, was a real milestone.
I bought a 10m trainer lead to see how he behaves with some more freedom. Didn't need it. We went to a quiet local park that is well fenced, away from roads and frequented by loads of dogs. We met a lady going in with a Patterdale and I thought, sod it! Let's have some fun.
And fun Frisbee had. He ran and ran....and remarkably came back on command most of the time! When he didn't, he still made the occasional flypast to 'buzz the tower'. Generally though, he only runs away to greet other dogs and then whizzes straight back.
We are now three walkies in, with some 'free' time to have a dash, and he evens loves chasing a ball, but thankfully isn't obsessed with it. I will still be pretty cautious with him though and will phase in off-lead locations gently. The sniff of a rabbit or squirrel with show his true colours I think.
In terms of other dogs, he just wants to say hello and make friends, and everyone warms to him almost immediately.
So all in all, happy dog, happy owner. I'd nearly forgotten how much joy and fun a young(ish) dog can be.

Frisbee has settled in and is now part of the furniture.
He has also had a good dental, which left him with two fewer teeth, but his breath is much better!
Walkies are the real treat for him, and he now runs to his lead and noses it when he thinks we're off out. He is now fully acquainted with the various local doggie haunts and is nearly completely reliable off lead...well as much as any terrier can be! One thing he does very well, is make friends - everyone smiles when Frisbee (aka 'Silly-Boy' [moderated by sharonr - admin]!) is around.
Photo below - with his best friend, Bonnie, our 13 year old Westie. More to follow...off for a haircut this week!!
