Homing Requirements: Blue could live as an only dog or with another dog. He is ex kennel so needs patience, guidance and partnership to develop understanding. Blue adapts well considering his skill deficit. No to young children, small furries or cats.

His Story: Blue was held back by his breeder as a stud dog. He always shared a kennel with a bitch for company. Blue has been fostered with 2 Labrador bithes for sometime and delighting in family activities. Neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently fostered in Sunningdale Surrey.

Video: Blue playing with Izzy yesterday – enjoy

Advert: Blue was blue, but is like bright blue sky now; night and day. He is busy entertaining his foster family. His life has changed for the much better and he is searching for his very own family. He has the instinctive confidence of the terrier & is  busy building skills, so he will need his family to be taking him slowly. He meets people and dogs well. He travels well in a car. Housetraining isn't an problem just initial marking and opportunity to use garden. He has responded to clear boundaries and his pack leader taming his terrier ways.

Blue's father was a pedigree Lakeland Terrier called Cloud and Bunny who came through our Rescue is a Patterdale. He carries the Lakie colouring. Blue is in good health, he is on good quality food and  his weight and fur have much improved. He is kind and has a receptive temperament. A lovely boy who is building many friends and will attract a great family.

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs.

See Blue's Thread below: Watch his progress through our Rescue

Referral Details: Blue has been part of a breeder pack so has had no exposure to life as he should know it. His breeder is stopping breeding Fell Terriers so we have worked with her as a project to take each in turn and prepare them for new lives.

Blue came out of his kennel today and travelled in the front with me amazed by all he saw. He is very loving and such a sweetheart I can't tell you. I got one very hesitant lick and I practically showered him with them.

Blue has a very special place in our Rescue. We helped his younger sister Chleo with her partner Jay 3 years ago. We then helped his litter brother Stanley who became a huge character in our Rescue. So Blue, hoping we'll find your family in no time at all! His character is very very similar to Chleo.

Blue came into Gatwick (N) yesterday. Paco his foster brother was not settling with him in the house. He had a lovely walk with Jaycy and they then enjoyed the paddock together. I microchipped him and they were last seen in their kennel together greeting as people walked by. Heat lamp on last night and sheepskin bedding they will think they are in a luxury hotel. Sweet dreams little ones lets hope your home is there for Xmas.

Blue notes from Heather and Malcolm who fostered Blue for 36 hours

Blue stayed with us for a short time, but unfortunately our dog didn’t like the idea of an addition to our family, so sadly Blue couldn’t stay with us any longer.  Blue is a lovely boy and we fell in love with him right away, he is a ‘happy chappy’ who would make some one a lovely pet given a chance.  He walks well on a lead, doesn’t pull or become over excited and is happy to walk by your side.  He loves treats which he takes gently and during our walks he made quite a few friends and received a number of treats which he accepted graciously.  Although not house trained, within 24 hours Blue was getting to grips with the idea and was no longer ‘cocking his leg’ in the house….he’s a quick learner!!  I would totally recommend Blue for a forever home, we are only sorry we couldn’t keep him ourselves!!

Blue is a sweetie pie and so lovely to touch base with him again. Surprized how confident he is considering his background and less than a week out the otherside. Getting on very well with Jaycy and seems happy in the kennels.

Little Blue couldn't have given a nicer welcome when Charlie and I met him and his girlfriend Jaycy on Friday. Happy to meet us, welcomed Charlie into his kennel and was just generally delighted with the attention.  love7

Lonewolf arrived and joined us with Alfie and Blue was delighted to be out with the big boys. He clearly took his steer from Alfie and was happy to head out for an adventure.

I felt like a much loved walker with all the gorgeous loving looks he gave me and dashes back to me when I said his name. Although this does mean I only have one photo that I had to sneak whilst he wasn't looking because everytime he saw me stop he dashed over for a cuddle so I have lots of 'blurs of fur and wet nose shots'.

Very soft in fur and temperament. Loves his little Jaycy and was attentive to her too and they walked together beautifully although when she grew too tired to walk on he was very happy to carry on with Alfie for the rest of the route.  He seems to be a happy, easy going chappy who is grateful for his lot in life.

He was happy to get back to his kennel and delighted to be reunited with Jaycy.
love6

I was very sad to leave him, he had won me over in such a short time and someone is going to be very lucky to find this wonderful sweetness.

After waving goodbye to kennel companion Jaycy

We headed out for a walk with Spike

Cuddles were on his mind - such an affectionate boy

It must be his turn for a lovely home next....

Little Blue. So desperate for a cuddle when I reached his kennel yesterday. It was very endearing.

Then he bumped along beside me all through the walk in the most affectionate way. Never wanted to be too far in front even with the extender and every so often would gently bump his body softly against my leg as he walked quietly by my side.

Hard to take his photo, I think he see's the camera as a prelude to a cuddle so I have plenty of close up nose shots if anyone wants them  smiliz65.gif

Another cuddle maybe?

I particularly love his little grey head. Between you and I he is a little bald on top but his skin is so soft and velvety it's a joy to give him a gentle stroke between the ears.

Ok just one sensible shot as you have worked quite hard for it.

Yum all this and treats, it's beginning to feel a lot like christmas...  Xmas Presents

When I got to the kennels this morning Charlie was running 20 mins late so I decided not to waste time in the car and headed for the kennel runs. I went down the corridor peaking at our terriers, checking which ones I had posted ads for and as usual marvelling at how much smaller or bigger they were than I thought from their pics. Then it was left to decide whose kennel run to spend time in. It's no secret that I had a big thing for Stanley, Blue's brother, so not really a surprise that I couldn't resist Blue's little face.  I got in Blue's bed with him and he relieved me of some of the nature diet I had with me.  He is a little cuddle monster and cute as a button - a Stanley with a very endearing and loving personality.  He was also warm as toast. That's how Charlie found me and this is the little boy whose charms I couldn't resist.  Sincere apologies for the number of photos, but I really couldn't choose and I hope his forever home fall in love with one of them ...

Tina (she works at the kennels) and her daughter stopped by by chance

Little Blue had a short walk today before jumping in the dog mobile. He couldn't make out the crate and proceeded to fall on his back with his legs in the air ro saviour the sheepskin but almost to see if he could work out the way out.

Blue then met Frances, Izzie and Indie her Labradorxs -easily and had a really lovely walk. Back in the house Blue was marking on a few too many occassions but we knew he was running on empty, so time to begin his correction the morrow. Showed a little jealousy over cuddles with his foster sisters, just a hint so Frances taking him slowly after all he is so new to all this. Blue wants everything on offer 10x..time for an indulgent New Year and lots of good cheer!

Watching Blue's story I could not leave him in kennels any longer, so here he is as of today in a warm house.  Lynne kindly brought him to my house and we took Blue for a walk with my 2 black labradors.  Blue met them really well and when we returned to the house they all were fine together.  He has now had a bath which he stayed still for and enjoyed being rubbed with the towel.  I look forward in giving him some really good food as his fur is quite thin.  As you can see by the photo's it only took 2 hours before he chilled out and had a little snooze.  He really is a cuddle monster who just wants to be loved.  Now he is in foster and everyone can see that he will be fine living in a home he will be snatched up really quickly.  I will update tomorrow to let you know how his first night has been with us - must go as he is wanting my attention!!

Yes he is a gorgeous boy.  I now have all 3 dogs sleeping next to me.  I have taken a picture which i will post later as I do not want to disturb them.  Blue did have one little grumble with Izzy but once corrected has been fine since.  Everything is so new for him, he was very confused with the TV and trembled when first seeing it.  He is now fine .  I cannot believe how quickly he has settled in.

Blue enjoyed his sleep on the settee until he went to bed in his crate.  He did bark for sometime but once he stopped he slept until I got up at 7am.  I am sure tonight will be better as he has to learn the routine.

Indie letting Blue join her on her bed.
