Homing Requirements: Benson needs a supportive family who understands his sensitive disposition and supports his confident exposure using muzzle at this stage outside. Ideally large dog experience with positive reinforcement (rather than protective or shielding behaviour). Benson needs companionship and could live another dog. Fine with Dog savvy older children. Not for cats or small furries.

His Story: Benson was returned to his breeder who couldn't take him back, so we took him in. His fosterer with 2 staffies, 5 young children then adopted him. This environment proved too busy for him, he was stressed, their new accommodation wouldn't allow 3 dogs. Benson is 2 year, neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert: Benson had a highly social life with 5 very young children and 2 other dogs but his instincts were 'shyness'. He was scared of brooms, vacuum cleaner, loud noises and fast movements. He benefits greatly from reassurance and needs a programme of gradual exposure, which he missed as a pup. Benson is now in a quieter household within foster with routine and respecting his sensitive nature. Benson loves people now and adores his canine companions. A training programme without too much 'analysis' would support his emergence into adulthood.  Benson is proven with children as a live-in situation but we are looking for older children; his home has to be about meeting his needs.

Video Click HERE:  Walking with a Lion

Benson is a medium to large dog who is shy by nature and has come along way since being in our care. An extremely loving dog. He is learning to gauge his own energy and manner outside. A firm favourite within our Rescue. Benson is a GREAT FRIEND looking for his family.  A really good boy whose chest swells when you remind him just how good he really is. Benson is a heart melter.

Please visit Benson Mastiff Cross DOB 11.09 Gatwick N Kennels to find out more and follow his progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete Our on-line Homing Questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

What one loses another gain's and i tell you now, What a Gain.
Not only is he handsome but a very well mannered dog who has no issue's with anything so far.
All 3 have shared bowls ie food and water, play fab together, shared 2 huge post man leg's bone's & walk wonderful.
Like my 2 he love's tuna in his dog biscuits
Has learned sit, wait, walk on, because of my 2 when out walking & is now in the process of learning paw to get a treat.
He also know's bed and no!
Had to leave all 3 for 2 hrs this after noon due to 2nd son's school having fun raiser not a peep, curled up and slept. No door's closed either & no No accidents either. Ben is fully house trained.
Ben is a very intelligent dog who has not only adapted to his new surroundings but is learning trick's very quickly and that is due to my 2.
Ben will make an EXCELLENT partner & Friend.

Ben is as happy as larry & you would never guess he has only been here 4 days! Its like he has always been.
He love's laying down by your feet, sleeping on the landing or downstairs in the dinning room & lounge where their beds are.
He love's his food and he love different kind's, TUNA, PASTA, SARDINE'S, LIVER/ONION'S/MASHED SPUD, & no doubt he will love ROAST DINNER.
I will not treat BEN any different to my 2, they are part of my family & all treated the same! Love's pigs ear's too
Ben know's sit, wait, walk on, school run & give, fully!
He is learning paw for a treat quickly & has nearly got the hang of it, just needs to learn to wait his turn for treat.
Lots of kisses, love's being around the kids but does not interfere in what they are doing, just like's to pop head in an make sure everything is ok.
This wonderful gentle giant love's busy family life & company of other dog's, you would think because of him being 8 month old he would be a hyper pup, No he is not!
He play's when my 2 play, eat's when we all eat, and sleep's when its bed time.
A TRUELY WONDERFUL GENTLE GIANT!

Lynne collected benson this morn, to be snipped what a brilliant dog, all ready so laid back and dosile, went in car  for lynne.
My two have been looking about the house for ben and are subdude.

On another note:
This Gentle Giant really deserve's a home don't let size put you off!
Or just because you have young children, thinking he might knock them over, Not the case at all, I have 5 children: 12, 10, 06, 04, 03: 3 boys, 2 girls, the boy being the youngest!
Ben really is the most gentle loving caring and obident creature going, kids hug him, kiss him, climb over him, fall asleep on him!
Ben is not over powering or over bearing, he lets you get on with what you are doing and he either lays down in his bed or goes and plays in the garden.
On walks he stays by your side, greets other dogs well and is not fazed by other dogs barking at him, he looks at them like there idiots!
YOU REALLY GOTTA GIVE THIS FELLA A CHANCE! & YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED, IRISH PROMISE!

Ben has been snipped and god love him is not taking it well, he must be in some pain cause all he is doing is crying, will keep close eye on him tonight & make it extremely comfortable, rap him up in my robe and have him next to me.
He should be alright in 48hrs.
God love him.

Yes least you forgot, Jess's son and Pebbles brother, Benson is now fully adopted to his family including Gracie and Scooby. Paperwork received today.  Congratulations...I think we can safely say Karen's house is full but heart- heart is still wide open!

Benson comes into our kennels on Monday. His family are moving up north and can only have 2 dogs where they live.

It has broken our heart's having to do such a thing! Sad
Ben is a loving, companion who is quiet happy to curl up next to you and go asleep.
Anyone out there who is interested in Ben don't leave him in kennel's long
His Trick is when you have a treat you say to him: " what have you to do?" Ben will automatically sit and give you his paw and a huge kiss.
He know's sit, laydown, paw , fetch & kiss. Love's his full sunday dinner's mixed in with his biscuits as well as left over's from meal time's.
DO NOT LEAVE THIS DOG IN KENNEL'S PLEASE
