This poem was written by Toby's mum (JRT X).
| Quote: | DOTTY ABOUT DOGS
We think of them as our ‘Best Friends’: the ‘Rockys’, ‘Tobys’ and the Bens.
Perhaps it’s just the welcome home and knowing that we’re not alone?
Maybe it’s the velvety ears that banish all our ‘bad-day’ tears?
Or liquid eyes and soft black nose, that render such a ‘melting’ pose?
Or, possibly, their funny walk and close attention when we talk?
Could it be the field-fresh air, with joy-filled freedom while we’re there?
Perhaps it’s people, on the way, who say ‘Hello’ and make our day?
Dogs leave their paw prints on our hearts and so we never want to part,
From tickling fur upon our skins and eyes that look so deep within;
From sofa snuggles that are bliss, or licks that seem more like a kiss.
Assuredly, we have a friend, whose faithfulness will never end
And sense a treasure from above; God’s gift of unconditional love! |
None of you will be surprised i bet to know this has been published
