Posted: Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:55 pm Post subject: Beanie JRT DOB 7 years Milton Keynes
Homing Requirements: Beanie needs a terrier confident home where he is allowed to relax and join in the fun and entertain. No live-in young children and respectful visiting children. Use vocal to wake him but touch. Could live with other dogs. Could live with dog savvy cats- fostered with one.
His Story: Beanie was rescued from a pound to live 7 months with a kennel staff in with young grandchildren and 2 other dogs. His owner lifted up whilst in REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep to kiss him and he bit in shock. Owner couldn't get over how stupid she'd been, didn’t lose her trust but daughter wouldn't bring her children around so she had to return him to kennels. Neutered, chipped and vax'd.
Advert: Beanie needs a terrier confident home where he is allowed to relax and join in the fun and entertain. Beanie is a delight in every way. He revels in attention and activity. He can be easily picked up and managed when awake. Tends to graze over his food. Travels well in the car. He is housetrained and very versatile. Keen on training and treats!
Beanie is a small Jack Russell with an almost Dachshund body. He is a cherub in his busy foster home. He definitely needs a family who 'get terriers' and he will engage and entertain in every movement and moment. Beanie is very connected into people. His instinct is to retreat if uncertain. Yes he bit but was an isolated incident...here he is photographed with the lady he bit and she has no hesitations in handling him. There is no edge to his character and was freely mixing with young children and currently with foster children. He needs a conscious household

Miasmum fell in love with Beanie today so in a heart's beat he was meeting Poppy her terrier and carried in to meet the others..now happily fostered in with chums and Arnold the C A T ! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
When I saw Beanie on his way to kennels he was looking so sad, curled up in a corner, tail down. But within 5 minutes of coming in and meeting us all he had given me my first hello and thank you kiss. An adorable, happy boy!
Beanie is a cute happy little boy and everyone loves him. He would play fetch all day if you let him! His tail only stops wagging to sleep. He loves to cuddle up to you or sit on your lap for a snooze. He is fine with the cat and my other dogs but does worry a bit if they are playing chase and may bowl right into him. I worry about that too!
Beanie has had a bath which has made his coat brighter and he just let me wash and dry him without any wriggling at all! He delights is being with you, if I pick up my car keys he is so keen he's at the door before you have turned round! He has been to the vets where he behaved impeccably even when the big needle went in, not a murmurer. His teeth and weight are very good apparently so he has kept himself in good shape!
He continues to be a delightful house guest, who deserves an owner he can love and devote himself to for the rest of his life.
Beanie is either asleep next to you or ready to play, he certainly doesn't act like a 7 year old dog . His loves riding in the car and had a lovely walk in the woods today so he's having a well earned snooze now.
What a cutie. I would love to have Beanie coming home to me, but 'him indoors' needs a lot more convincing.... _________________ The more people I meet, the more I like dogs ?!
I have been unable to post on this little mans thread recently due to computer failure I have a borrowed one now but still can't upload pic's yet.
Beanie has come on so well he has had both his vax's etc and has an excellent report from the vet. He loves his food and is always the first to finish! He now takes treats gently and calmly. He has a lovely way of begging on his hind legs so if you want a Mia-cat kinda dog he's your man. Simples! He loves going out in the car or going for a walk, he runs round in circles hoping for his lead to go on.
Beanie is a pleasure to play with, always bringing back and leaving the ball for you to throw, and lhas excellent re-call. He loves to sunbathe in the garden too. He has settled and he is much happier around groups of dogs now, even going up to a dog walker himself today to say hello. He is so cute it is impossible not to want to cuddle him. Everybody who meets him falls in love, all he needs is a forever home.
Had the pleasure of meeting Beanie today
With Christina
with his Mates
And his rope!

Beanie is such an easy foster. He loves his food, always does what he needs to outside and is quite happy to curl up almost anywhere for a snooze. if he can sit on your lap or snuggle up to you for a kip that is his heaven but if not he will choose the clean washing pile, an old coat left on the chair or even the cats bed!
I have noticed a real change this week in Beanie, he is so much more relaxed sneaking under the other dogs legs to get the ball, sleeping in with my son sometimes and fitting in with the pack in such a good way.
He deserves a forever sofa soon.
Imagining Beanie on his forever sofa right now...flew the roost today! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Went and collected Beanie today and met Graham after his work and handed him back. The family just can't live without him and are going to attend training classes to get to grips with his management. Harvey will be delighted to see his little brother walk through the door tonight .
