Homing Requirement: Alfie needs a family who understands terriers. Alfie needs managed introductions, 'treats' to strangers inside and guided intro outside until he trusts. Alfie needs a family without live-in children and not too many visitors. Can be left. Can suffer skin itching with grass pollen. Not for cats or small furries.
His Story: Alfie was raised with dogs but apprehensive in first meeting. Went into a Rescue and homed successfully with a couple until they needed to give him up when expecting their first baby. Alfie was fostered as an only dog in London but too urban a lifestyle. Alfie was fostered with other terriers but had his moments so best suited as an only dog. Now in boarding kennels near Gatwick. Alfie is neutered, vax'd and chipped.
Advert: Alfie has been loved all his life; a treasured pet indeed! Alfie is a keen learner; gained his bronze citizens award! He is a good teacher to the ways of the Fell terrier! Alfie can be left and enjoys his toys amusing himself for hours throwing in the air and chasing them or the birds that dare to fly across his garden! He would equally enjoys a companion lifestyle. Alfie is an adorable lad who approaches life with bravado, resting his head on his paws when life is more restful. Alfie has 'working type' terrier instincts so not for cats, small furries and managed around livestock.
Alfie is the Fell Terrier and that means a Terrier to his paw tips. He has a course wire short coat and sparkling eyes. Alfie is very affectionate and loves to sit on your lap. Alfie just needs the confidence of a terrier owner with an adult environment. We're not apologising for Alfie; he is your real Terrier and loved because of it! Everyone who has helped Alfie along his way are passionate about him. What a GEM!

Alfie has been having a few issues settling in with his new lifestyle and out on his walks. We have sadly had to conclude that Alfie hasn't settled, with having almost too much going on and so many visits and visitors. We feel he was more settled in a quieter lifestyle which he felt more in control of in terms or routine etc. with less 'events' and fewer dogs around on his walks. His family wish to hold on until we find that home. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

Such a very sad day to see our lovely Alfie boy go to Gatwick kennels. After fostering him for 5 months, he skipped (and pulled) his way in giving off in reply to all the other dogs .... stating his arrival! Unlike us, we left and fell apart!!!!
He is such a handsome and fun fella but sooooooo needs doggy friends.
He has been doing well with his walker 'tethered' to a black lab rather than constantly on lead, which built his confidence unmuzzled around several other dogs. We would love to see him rehomed with an older, mature and obedient dog to show him doggy ways and find a true doggy companion to match his playful manner in a forever home.
Alfie moved in to a trial adoption yesterday. His charisma was too much to resist
Alfie with her Rosie, Brian and her canine friends Guss and Jessie
Guss was so delighted to meet Alfie and insisted he stay to see if they couldn't turn into friends for life.
Just got to get used to sharing toys and food. Early days.

so pleased that Alfie has a chance to make some doggie friends it what seems and ideal foster home.
Fingers crossed his charms win all over and he behaves himself, he really does have great manners and lots of charisma.
We really miss him but just look at those lovely photos, and see who bagged the bed on the patio!
Thanks again to all, especially his new family too. x
